Job Description:

The Deposit Operations QA Methodology Manager is responsible for supervising QA reviews within Deposit Operations to help strengthen processes conducted by Core Operations QA Methodology. This role will collaborate with Control Framework partners across Core Operations, as well Operations Leadership. The QA Methodology Manager will oversee the processing of QA reviews and reporting of results to business partners, while handling any escalated issues.

Position will Manage a staff of QA Analysts that are responsible for completing QA reviews for Deposit Operations processes. Position will communicate with functional area management to resolve escalated QA error challenges and complete administrative tasks including reviewing QA staff's work, maintaining errors logs and compiling monthly status reports. Position will review and/or create QA procedures and testing sheets, as needed, and collaborate with peers in QA Management to drive continuous improvement of the QA program.

The Manager, Controls Management uses Risk and Control and Bank Operations knowledge to strengthen and support the control environment across Core Operations. Partners with key risk and control partners across the bank to provide an end to end and consistent approach to managing controls within the lines of business. Analyzes control processes and breakdowns to provide business line support and develop effective solutions.

Depth & Scope:

  • Provides people management leadership by hiring the best talent, setting goals, developing staff, managing employee performance, and promoting teamwork
  • Supports the documentation and maintenance of key 1A Control Management frameworks and processes
  • Serves as a Subject Matter Expert on the control environment and management for Core Operations for areas of focus
  • Challenges existing processes and controls, and make recommendations as necessary
  • Participates as a member of the team in executing assigned deliverables in key areas of focus
  • Supports the Core Operations Control Management team by continuously developing knowledge in own area
  • Identifies risk and potential control failures, and makes recommendations to mitigate risk, ensuring the timely opening and remediation of self-identified findings as necessary
  • Provides training and support the line of businesses within Core Operations in increasing their Risk and Control knowledge
  • Contribute to relevant reporting and key risk insights
  • Ensures alignment with customer expectations to deliver a WOW! Experience
  • Participates as a member of the team in executing assigned deliverables in key areas of focus
  • Requires innovative thinking to develop new solutions impacting areas of responsibility

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelors degree
  • 7+ years relevant Risk & Controls or Bank Operations experience
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Conceptual thinker, ability to wade through processes and data and arrive at conclusions
  • Strong leadership & team collaboration skills
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a High-Risk operations control environment.
  • Experience managing, coaching, and motivating a large team of direct reports.
  • Experience with building and managing various business line partnerships and collaboration.
  • Prior experience with Quality Assurance testing
  • Familiarity with Deposit Operations through direct work experience or risk partner oversight
  • Experience in procedure development and implementation.
  • Knowledge of MS Excel with ability to troubleshoot formula errors.
