TheManager, Copyat 1800Flowers.com and subsidiaries will help to evolve the brand voice. We are looking for someone who is meticulous, yet strategic, with an emphasis on digital marketing and editorial content for multi-layered campaigns in the gifting, floral and plant spaces. This role will hands-on execute brand voice and seasonal strategy, as well as oversee a small team of writers in go-to market, product copy and content execution. This role will be a blend of right and left brained thinking, able to create blue-sky thinking one minute, and understand fiscal data and how to translate that data into results the next.
The ideal candidate will be well versed in digital best practices, creative testing and SEO. You will be expected to empower, not micro-manage, copywriters to execute the larger creative idea and vision. Experience a must in managing multi-disciplined writers and providing actionable feedback. Organization, multi-tasking, collaboration and delegation are high priorities for this role.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Produce excellent marketing communications, while considering the consumer mindset in all creative components, working in either a managerial role or a hands-on writer role based on the needs of the project.
- Maintain a strategic relationship with channel partners and stay up-to-date with developments in strategy, performance, goals, testing plans, data and analytics, SEO and retail/B2B/e-commerce sales and traffic performance.
- Promote continual creative improvement and actively contributes to a culture of innovation, excellence, and accountability.
- Provide clear direction to direct reports regarding developing copy, brand voice, testing, concepts and setting individual goals.
- Be the anchor point for aligning creative development work with other channel-specific strategic goals and build partnerships to bridge the creative connection between teams in Marketing, Merchandising and E-commerce.
- Support CD in managing 1-800-Flowers brand standards and copy guidelines, which will exist as internal marketing communication tools for a variety of content producer audiences in multiple mediums.
- Partner with art directors, designers and writers to develop fresh concepts and storytelling ideas that accomplish project goals, maximize the influence of each marketing message, and ensure accuracy in all finished products.
- Attend and actively participate in Live Date List turnover meetings, assign PDP categories to writers, and do a topline edit
- Provide copy direction on small-and large-scale projects from creative conception to completion. This includes brainstorming with creative team on complex projects/campaigns and supervising comprehensive presentations that reflect an understanding of the briefer's brand strategy and goals.
- Work with vendors to provide creative feedback on outsourced projects and communicate brand updates to these vendors.
- Demonstrate global cultural awareness with regard to other languages, diversity, inclusion and use consultant resources to create the correct brand voice in other languages when required.

The expected salary for this position $120,000. The actual compensation will be determined by experience and other factors permitted by the law.
Requirements
- 8-10 years progressive creative, digital, and content marketing experience in both mass and prestige, with emphasis on copy and content applied to digital marketing, social, content, promotions, B2B, product descriptions, POS, print, packaging, e-commerce and blog.
- Diverse knowledge of ecommerce and retail competitive landscape, understanding of testing development and use of research mediums.
- Meticulous proofreader of your work and other colleagues.
- Use voice and creative sensibilities to translate creative concepts into materials for our consumer.
- 3-5 years of supervisory and managerial experience
- Bachelor's Degree or advanced degree in Journalism, Advertising or other related areas with an emphasis on writing; or combined 8-10 years of on-the-job experience in a creative role; ideally in ecommerce retail/beauty/fashion writing, in a global brand consumer environment or in a fashion editorial role.
