Job Description

Responsible for managing the Data Governance function and improving data quality for the Corporation. The function will implement and maintain an institutional data governance structure, implement a data quality methodology and be responsible for overall data quality improvement across the organization. In addition, policies standards and processes will be developed and maintained to support the data governance and quality functions. Conducts the performance management process, identifies training and development needs, and establishes performance standards for the function. 1. Implements and maintains a data governance structure for the enterprise2. Implements and tracks adoption of a data quality framework across critical data for the institution3. Implements solutions to improve data quality across the enterprise4. Implements management information reporting and tracking around data governance and quality5. Develops and executes a communication and change management plan6. Collaborates with senior management in developing recommendations around policies, standards and framework for data governance7. Collaborates with partners across the organization in developing and maintaining the data governance and data quality structures ensuring we are meeting business needs while balancing quality, risk and cost8. Engages with the industry to learn about best practices, gain insightful competitive and regulatory intelligence to help in building excellence in our governance and quality initiatives9. Carries out complex initiatives involving multiple disciplines and/or ambiguous issues10. Displays a balanced, cross-functional perspective, liaising with the business to improve efficiency, effectiveness and productivity11. Participates in developing division strategic plan and sets goals and priorities based on the direction set for the unit; follows through to ensure that objectives are met12. Provides leadership and guidance to staff, fostering an environment that encourages employee participation, teamwork, and communication
A College or University degree and/or data governance and quality work experience is required. Excellent oral and written communication skills are requiredIn-depth data governance, data quality and strong financial industry knowledge is requiredHighly flexible and adaptable to changeStrong project management and/or organization skillsLeadership and organizational skills are required to determine the Business Unit's goals, resources needed, and to assess and develop the skills of staffAbility to work in a fast pace, dynamic environment with limited direction
