Manager, Data Governance

Your role in helping us shape the future:
As the Manager of the Network Governance Group, you will be responsible for leading the network governance team consisting of both contractor and full-time resources that are responsible for executing on the governance framework. You will be responsible for working with various teams and organizations to create and maintain policies and processes that ensures a very high level of correctness and completeness of the data records across the enterprise by partnering with Data Stewards in various Data Domains. As the manager, you will be responsible for removing roadblocks that empower your team to successful architect data solutions and govern the accuracy of the data and service models that rely on accurate data. This position focuses on a collection of organizational technology capabilities, including business intelligence, data management, and data assurance that help teams drive innovation and growth to keep up with the changing nature of customers and technology.
You will make impactful decisions by challenging the status quo and legacy practices by leading the creation of a culture where data is valued as an asset. You will understand and help Intelsat company gain a competitive edge. You will focus on aligning the process data strategies to the business strategy that support the day-to-day activities of cross-functional teams to deliver Internet Technology Asset Management (ITAM) Services.
Are you up to the challenge?

• You'll focus on aligning data strategies to business strategy. You will assist the Data Architects and Technical SME's in choosing a tool-first approach to solving data-driven challenges, help define the data needs, and ensuring a smooth transition into the ServiceNow ecosystem.
• Y ou'll work as part of a team of problem solvers, helping to resolve complex business issues from strategy to execution.
• Analyze reports and regularly communicate the current state status of the CMDB and sources of reference as well as the milestones along the roadmap that shows the progress towards reaching the desired end-state for Data Governance with each platform
• You'll lead the Network Governance team members in creation of data governance plans, roadmap, success metrics, and assessment of client's enterprise data systems.

Can you drive these processes?

• Ensures the quality of the master data set encompassing all systems, as well as development and documentation of processes with other functional data owners to support ongoing maintenance and data integrity.
• To ensure data integrity with key systems as well as maintaining the processes to support the data quality via integration and transformation
• To identify areas for data quality improvements and helps to resolve data quality problems through the appropriate choice of error detection and correction, process control and improvement, or process design strategies.
• To collaborate with subject matter experts and data stewards, defines and implements data strategy, policies, controls, and programs to ensure the enterprise data is accurate, complete, secure, and reliable.
• To effectively communicate the needs in resolving data quality problems through the appropriate choice of error detection and correction, process control and improvement, or process design strategies collaborating with subject matter experts (SMEs) and data stewards.
• To lead the implementation of enterprise data concepts such as Master Data Management (MDM) and Enterprise Data Warehouse and initiate and support data governance standards.

You should definitely have:

• 5+ years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree in information science, data management, computer science or related field; or 10+ years with an associate's degree; or equivalent experience
• The ability to effectively communicate and collaborate across multiple organizational levels and cross functional teams
• Advanced end-user experience within the ServiceNow ecosphere including a strong understanding of asset management best practices in data governance and CMDB management
• Understanding of industry standards, regulations, and guidelines in IT/Network operations and engineering via the ITSM Framework
• Understanding of relational databases, Kafka, ServiceNow, and/or Oracle ERP is ideal
• Advanced experience using MS Excel, Access, SQL and/or similar tools

It would be nice if you had:

• ITIL v3 or 4 Foundations Cert
• Experience working in the Telecommunication Industry
• Designing and developing data governance technology solutions that span data quality, data dictionary & business glossaries, data standards and policies, data lineage and catalogs
• Creating high quality and detailed documentation related to data governance processes and policies
