The Data Management Office within the Connected Aviation Solutions (CAS) organization is a newly formed organization with end-to-end responsibility to ensure that Collins Aerospace data assets are managed with integrity and quality prior to consumption by our critical applications and customer facing solutions. Having just recently completed an organization-wide detailed assessment, a 3-year / $30M roadmap has been developed, approved and funded and is ready to begin implementation. Within this organization we are now seeking a candidate that will grow our data rights capabilities within our Data Compliance team. The position is directly responsible with coordinating our company's authority to data as it is collected or obtained by customers, third parties, or publicly available sources and ensuring that our teams are utilizing this data in accordance with the rights obtained. The role will be tasked with coordinating across business segments and our contracts office. This position will report to the manager of Data Compliance on the CAS Data Management Team but will also support the Office of General Counsel (OGC) Contracts Organization.
This position will collaborate heavily with Collins Aerospace Contracts Organization within the Office of General Counsel (OGC) and this position will be a focal point within the Data Management organization to advise and collaborate with teams to ensure our organization is meeting contractual obligations.
Employees who are working in Remote roles will work primarily offsite (from home). An employee may be expected to travel to the site location as needed.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop, operationalize and manage a data rights methodology to ensure data is flowing and being used as intended.
- Establish data rights policies and procedures to ensure compliance is met.
- Provides inputs and collaborates with the contracts organization on drafting, generation, interpretation and management of highly complex proposals and contracts documents in accordance with internal and external customer schedules and specification and in accordance with company policies and legal requirements
- Represents the Data Management organization to customers and government agencies in regards to complex contracts and matters in collaboration with the Contracts Organization.
- Recognized expert within discipline having deep knowledge of theory and organizational practices in the negotiation and administration of contracts
- Improves the department processes through the application of deep knowledge and experience in contracts functions
- Maintains historical information to ensure ease of accessibility of contracting documentation for legal and contract negotiations and relationships.
- Advises management of contractual requirements and obligations to protect the organization's legal and business interests
- Influences others outside of job area regarding policies, practices, and procedures
- Ability to analyze, interpret, and organize large amounts of data
- Excellent communication skills to translate complex problems using non-technical terms
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to work towards meeting multiple deadlines simultaneously
- Ability to compile and organize findings and data retrieved before presenting it to management
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree and 8 years of prior relevant experience OR
- Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience OR
- In absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience is required
- Engineering/Other Technical Positions: Bachelor's degree (typically in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
- Must be a US Citizen or green card holder
Required Skills:
- Fluent in FAR/DFAR Requirements for FAR 12 and FAR 15 contracting
- Experienced in Commercial Item Determinations
- Aerospace industry experience
