The Manager, Decision Sciences has a significant role in supporting development and implementation of fraud models/strategies for all WU digital products, including all ongoing and systematic data collection and aggregation. This role has significance in system stability analysis and using insight from customers and colleagues worldwide to improve financial services for families, small businesses, multinational corporations, and non-profit organizations.

Role Responsibilities

  • Supporting the Data Governance and Access Control of different Compliance Platforms like Snowflake, Dataiku and Graph Databases

  • Define the Product strategy and roadmap for modern Compliance Control Pipelines

  • Work with the Scrum teams to enable and enhance existing Compliance Controls which will improve end to end customer experience

  • Supporting the development of automated risk detection throughout our compliance program.

  • Enable to leverage machine learning to identify potential fraud, money laundering and other financial crimes to enhance Western Union’s ability to proactively prevent and accurately report suspicious transaction activity.

  • Managing multiple projects and data requests in a timely manner.

  • To co-ordinate with other PO/PMs to ensure that system solutions meet goals and meet business needs.

  • Ability to query and analyze data to generate reports, analytics, and recommendations.

  • Document and manage audit related processes and tasks.

  • Interact with other internal departments to formulate recommendations and actions.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to interact with cross-functional roles.


Role Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in the field of risk analytics in the financial services/online payment industry.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage and maintain governance controls for Platforms and tools

  • Excellent analytics and problem-solving capabilities, including advanced skills in statistical analysis.

  • Proficiency in using business intelligence, data mining, and SQL for reporting and Analytics

  • Hands-on experience with Snowflake.

  • Familiarity with the AWS ecosystem.

  • Knowledge on Machine Learning concepts is good to have

  • Understanding of feature engineering, model selection/validation, and performance testing.

  • Strong project management, multi-tasking, and organizational skills.

  • Knowledge of AML Compliance and experience with Snowpark would be an added advantage.

  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies.
