The DevOps/Product Release Manager is a mix of leadership and technical capabilities. You will be leading a talented team of Engineers and demonstrate technical competency, reliable delivery, and support of mission critical infrastructure, ensuring the highest levels of availability, performance, and security in the continuously expanding portfolio of Cepheid medical device products.

You will be responsible for developing strategy for continuous incremental evolution of best practices, frameworks, and technology while playing a vital role in managing day-to-day tactical execution of software release and build process.

This position is part of the Software Engineering and will be in Sunnyvale, CA or remote.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Work in close partnership with engineering functions such as compute platform, connectivity, application, and cloud solutions to build best in class CICD pipeline for product releases.
  • Determining the architecture that executes the roadmap to design, implement and maintain scalable package, build and deployment automation frameworks.
  • Design, implement, and maintain software policy for COTS software update, patch management, and computer cloning/imaging infrastructure.
  • Manage various vendors with hardware, software, and language translations. Work with software development teams to define versioning, branching and merging plan for multiple parallel software releases.
  • Develop scripts to automate DevOps functions, such as source code validation for continuous integration, automated test tool configuration, application topology configuration, automated deployment, and proactive environment monitoring & management.
  • Responsible for managing AWS cloud infrastructure and delivering robust Cloud platforms roadmap to meet the needs of customers.
  • Working with the Engineering and Operational teams to explore new tooling and automation to further enhance both the customer and operational user experience.
  • Leading high performing Engineering teams focused on customer excellence and productivity.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, equivalent experience, or related field with 9 years of IT experience or Master's degree with 7 years of IT experience.
  • Five (5) + years of experience in Enterprise Devops technologies (Active Directory, NAT, Firewall, Windows/Linux update management, Software Deployment, Computer Cloning/Imaging, IP KVM, NAS, AWS).
  • Five (5) + years of experience in dealing with different vendors with both hardware and software.
  • Three (3) + years of technical lead experience or background in DevOps, Build and Release Engineering with emphasis with traditional program languages (Java, C, C++, etc.).
  • Hands on experience with building Enterprise Devops infrastructure with emphasis on Windows device software update management, software deployment, and computer cloning/imaging infrastructure. (Microsoft Endpoint Manager, WUfB, WSUS, or others).

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Vendor management with hardware, software, and language translations.
  • Experience with systems administration and IT operations (networks, security, IP KVM, NAS, IP/TCP NATTING, VMWare Vsphere, Proxies, PKI, etc.).
  • Experience with Azure or AWS or other cloud offerings.

The salary range for this role is . This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted ranage. This range may be modified in the future.

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
