The Manager of Digitalization is responsible for deployment and adoption of lean processes, corporate R&D systems and tools, and the migration of legacy systems/data to current standards. A Subject Matter Expert in R&D processes and IT systems, six sigma methods, and related business processes and tools, this individual will drive continuous improvement and customer intimacy by leading the redesign of our processes and digitalization of our operations. In addition, this position will serve as bridge between the Business Group/Platform R&D leadership team and corporate digitalization teams to ensure alignment and transparency.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serve as the BG/Platform representative, or delegate responsibility, for R&D processes and changes.
  • Build a LSS capability in the organization including a team of SMEs/facilitators.
  • Partnering with Segment and Corporate digitalization teams, establish R&D metrics. In partnership with the RDLT, ensure metrics are incorporated into Associate and team performance objectives.
  • Create and execute a multi-year BG/Platform digitalization strategy and plan.
  • Serve as the Business Group/Platform representative on Business Unit, Segment and Corporate digitalization teams for strategy, planning, blueprinting, and optimization of digital systems.
  • Provide subject matter expertise support to product development teams to develop digital adoption strategies that ensures compliance with standard operating procedures (SOP), data integrity, efficient operations, and Platform specific business needs.
  • Plan and lead deployment of R&D business processes and digital tools. In partnership with the RDLT establish working teams to support deployment of tools and SME teams to drive adoption.
  • Architect and ensure quality of data, connections, and traceability across digital R&D systems.

IDEAL EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION & PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering with 8 years' experience or a master's degree and 5 years' experience.
  • Five years working in highly regulated R&D environments (e.g., medical, aerospace, etc.)
  • Three years configuring or deploying enterprise IT systems in a high output R&D environment.
  • Formal training in Design for Excellence principals and/or DFSS. Green Belt certification desired.
  • Demonstrated program management, prioritizing and multi-tasking skills and a record of successfully delivering work within tight deadlines.
  • Ability to communicate concepts and knowledge effectively to other individuals and teams.
  • Experience with waterfall and agile processes.
  • Experience leading small cross-functional teams on projects.
