Hearst Magazines is seeking an Education and Instructional Design manager to own the creation and execution of inclusive learning and development programs across Hearst Magazines. This position will be responsible for leveraging traditional instructional design models and business data to drive impactful and scalable development programs that help build our leadership capability now and into the future. The position reports to the Senior Director, Human Resources at Hearst Magazines.

Who You Are:
- As a key member of the Magazines Programs team, the Education and Instructional Design manager will design and execute talent development initiatives designed to maximize talent capability and leadership excellence; helping to cultivate an inclusive talent environment in which every person can reach their full potential.
- This role will be instrumental in driving Hearst Magazines' L&D strategy while assisting with the advancement of our diversity and inclusion and engagement efforts across the organization.
- This person will proactively manage learning and leadership development initiatives, inclusion efforts, engagement programs, mentoring, and partner with HRBPs to provide support to leaders across the business.
Responsibilities:
- Leverage strong expertise in curriculum design and inclusive training, proactively staying ahead of the curve of industry knowledge.
- Demonstrate an understanding of leading research, practices and innovations in L&D, DEI and Talent Management, plus the strengths and drawbacks of what has been tried to date.
- Design with solutions-focused, empathetic, and collaborative approach to implementing and improving people programs and processes to support the business.
- Partner with HR Leaders and key stakeholders across Hearst to conduct needs analysis, gap analysis, and develop approaches that align with business strategy. Conduct meaningful talent actions (build/borrow/buy) to ensure we have learning in place that touches all levels of people across Hearst Magazines.
- Manage programs as lead with full ownership of planning, facilitation/execution, and reporting against L&D/DEI metrics
- Assist with managing vendor relations and budget tracking.
Qualifications:
- Robust understanding of education theory and design
- Experience in designing inclusive leadership centered content to support business transformation with a proven track record of consistent delivery against business plans and targets
- Expertise in project management with a proven track record of successfully managing projects with multiple stakeholders to influence and drive results
- Experience operating within a matrixed environment is strongly preferred
- 4+years relevant experience
- Demonstrates influential leadership with authentic motivation capabilities, and proven ability to successfully manage responsibilities through transformation and change
- Demonstrates an inclusive style that garners respect and trust across stakeholders and team members
- Must have positive attitude, enthusiasm and passion for excellence, and willingness to take direction and feedback regularly
This role requires the position to be located in New York with an in-office presence of 2+ days a week.
The base salary for this role is between $85,000 to $100,000 annually. The actual base pay offered is dependent upon many factors, such as: transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
