I. Job Summary

The Employee Experience Manager is responsible for developing, planning, and executing on strategic initiatives to drive and foster a positive employee experience. Focusing on a comprehensive employee engagement strategy anchored by WM's Commitments and Values, the Employee Experience Manager will manage programs supporting inclusion, equity, and diversity, recognition, engagement surveys, onboarding, and communications.

II. Duties and Responsibilities To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each duty satisfactorily. Other ancillary duties may be assigned.
  • Manage multiple programs aimed to increase engagement across enterprise, including corporate and field employees, driving to support Employee Experience strategy.
  • Evaluate, recommend, and develop new processes to improve employee and leader experiences and increase program knowledge and cultural competency.
  • Support program reporting and analysis, tracking key performance indicators to inform success metrics for programs and initiatives.
  • Assist with scheduling enterprise-wide events (on-site and virtual), including coordinating hosts and speakers and conducting dry run calls to ensure successful live events.
  • Provide SME support and leader development tools to Impact Group Business Champions and Chairs.
  • Create enterprise-wide culture communications and internal marketing, including but not limited to employee desktop screensavers, Teams backgrounds, large scale event invites, print material, signage, and more.
  • Work with vendors and supply chain team to ensure compliance with WM policies and procedures.
  • Develop templates to create consistency with program management, communications, and dashboard reporting.
  • Build a sense of community through internal resources (Yammer, Teams, etc.) amplifying employee spotlights, and storytelling.
  • Research and implement new tools and processes to streamline intake requests.
  • Manage internal culture site, making it easy for leaders and employees to access tools and resources.
  • Benchmark Culture & Engagement, IE&D and Employee Experience best practices.
  • Develop surveys to collect and analyze feedback/eSat and report out on results and measure effectiveness of programs.
  • Assist with Employee Volunteer Program logistics.

III. Supervisory Responsibilities

The highest level of supervisory skills required in this job is the management of individual contributors. The ability to influence without authority is a top responsibility.

IV. Qualifications

The requirements listed below are representative of the qualifications necessary to perform the job.

A. Education and Experience

Education: Bachelors Degree (accredited), or in lieu of degree, High School Diploma or GED (accredited) and four years of relevant experience

Experience: Four years of experience in project/program management (in addition to education requirement).

B. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Other Requirements

None required.

C. Other Knowledge, Skills or Abilities Required

  • Strong project management capabilities, PMP Certification a plus.
  • Self-motivated, self-starter, with comfort working in teams.
  • Experience working in a matrixed organization, such as a fast-paced Operations environment.
  • The ability to meet deadlines and anticipate obstacles.
  • Data analysis and assessment abilities.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
  • Highly organized, attention to detail and strong follow-through.
  • Ability to think strategically and translate concepts into actionable items.
  • Innovative mindset identifying new ways to solve work problems resulting in unique/differentiated solutions.
  • Microsoft Office experience (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, PowerAutomate, SharePoint, etc.

  • Required to use motor coordination with finger dexterity (such as keyboarding, machine operation, etc.) most of the workday.
  • Required to exert physical effort in handling objects less than 30 pounds, rarely.
  • Normal setting for this job is hybrid for candidates located in Houston, TX (Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday) remote for candidates not located in Greater Houston area.
  • The role will require occasional travel to locations across the country up to 15% of the time.
