Northrop Grumman Mission Systems, located in Baltimore, MD, is seeking a leader to manage a functional team of Mechanical CAD (M-CAD) drafters.

This team is responsible for MCAD design support using our NX and Team Center tools and includes Mechanical Designs for all Baltimore programs.

Location:

This position is located in Baltimore, MD and report to the manager of the Design Services section, within the Mechanical Technology & Design Services department, within the Hardware Engineering department.

Position Overview:
  • Leading a functional group comprised of approximately 15 Professional and Union represented MCAD designers of varying experience levels; including performance management, merit planning, job assignment management / prioritization, career development, new employee onboarding and coaching. - Providing timely information flow down and fostering robust communication within team.
  • Engaging immediately to help team members overcome obstacles. - Maintaining awareness and ensuring consistent utilization of guidelines and best practices within the team.
  • Interfacing with program management in order to ensure effective staffing and support.
  • Supporting various department initiatives, which may include workforce engagement, talent recruiting and interviewing, development of training materials

Basic Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 9 years of related engineering experience with a Bachelor's degree, or minimum of 7 years of related engineering experience with a Master's degree. Experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, time management and organizational skills.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, organized and detail oriented.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret or higher security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with NX and Team Center MCAD tools. -
  • Familiarity with various hardware product design processes, tools and roles utilized within the NGMS-BWI Hardware department.
  • Previous functional management experience.
  • Active Secret or higher security clearance.

Salary Range: $113,200.00 - $169,800.00

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to basepay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO)for vacation and/orpersonal business.
