Manager, Engineering - Requests

You will manage 5 engineers to steward and grow Smartsheet’s request capabilities, which enables users to collaborate directly with their content and manage update and approval requests, as well as other prompts to action, at an enterprise scale. Requests include multiple new, green field projects with multiple interdependencies and new user experiences.

You will report to our Director, Engineering located in our Bellevue, WA office, or you may work remotely from anywhere in the US where Smartsheet is a registered employer. 

You Will:

• Manage a team of software engineers to deliver great products to our customers
• Maintain a high level of operational excellence focusing on application and infrastructure scalability, reliability, and performance
• Hire and grow your team by promoting engineering excellence and career development
• Lead, coach, and inspire your team to achieve high-quality software
• Collaborate with partner teams across the company including product management, development, UX design, and customer support teams
• Establish lean engineering processes that promote collaboration and rapid iterations to build the right product to solve the right problems

You Have:

• 8+ years of software engineering experience and 2+ years managing software engineering teams.
• A deep software development skills in at least one systems development language such as C#, C++, Python, Java, or JavaScript.
• Experience with modern technology stacks for building scalable, highly available customer-facing applications.
• Experience in distributed systems, systems automation, and cloud technologies.

• The drive to dive in, constantly learn new things, and build awesome products
• A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field or equivalent practical experience
• Legally eligible to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis

Smartsheet provides a competitive base salary range for roles that may be hired in different geographic areas we are licensed to operate our business from. Actual compensation is determined by several factors including, but not limited to, level of professional, educational experience, skills, and specific candidate location. In addition, this role will be eligible for a market competitive incentive opportunity and some roles may be eligible for a RSU stock grant upon accepted offer. 

California & New York: $178,200 to $253,800

All other US States: $165,000 to $235,000
