Through its Process, Risk & Governance (PRG) practice, Frazier & Deeter has developed a world-class team advising clients on all matters related to the management, process improvement, auditing and assurance, compliance, and reporting of ESG/Sustainability information.

We are seeking a motivated Manager, ESG Advisory to join our North America business reporting to the Director of ESG. You will be a key contributor to our Process, Risk and Governance Advisory team focused on ESG/Sustainability and Advisory process refinement and client project delivery.

Relationship Management will be a key factor for this the success of this role. The ideal candidate will possess broad experience and subject matter expertise in corporate ESG, sustainability, strategy, reporting and disclosure. A proven track record of helping clients assess sustainability/ESG information is a plus. 

What You’ll Do

The Manager, ESG Advisory will primarily be responsible for engaging with clients, leading engagement teams and developing client ESG/Sustainability solutions as part of FDs PRG advisory and Internal Audit services. In this role, you will support and deliver ESG/Sustainability advisory services for Public and Private Companies, Private Equity clients and their portfolio companies, Pre-IPO companies, government agencies, non-profits, etc.

You will also help to advance and improve our ESG services, methodologies and you will work closely with PRG and client cross functional teams (including but not limited to sustainability, legal and internal audit teams) to build robust and auditable disclosures and perform ESG/Sustainability related assurance procedures including evaluating and testing processes and related controls for climate/ESG and sustainability matters for disclosure by clients in external reports.

Requirements: 

  • 5+ years direct ESG/Sustainability responsibility and experience
  • Demonstrated success in a client service, advisory, or in-house role with responsibility for leading ESG/Sustainability materiality, strategy, goals, reporting, compliance, management. Audit engagement experience a plus.
  • Working knowledge of the global corporate ESG rating landscape including pending SEC regulations and CSRD requirements including for non-EU companies
  • Cross industry experience including private, private equity and pre IPO experience a plus
  • ESG/Sustainability certifications a plus 
  • Exceptional project management, collaboration and oversight skills including the ability to scope and manage the budget and delivery of complex engagements through the project lifecycle including meeting client deadlines
  • Demonstrate strong analytical skills, a mastery of PowerPoint, excellent writing and presentation skills and an ability to present to executive, Board / C-suite audiences
  • Conducting stakeholder ESG/Sustainability engagements, including materiality assessments, developing strategy, goals and reports
  • Developing, building and/or leading ESG/Sustainability methodologies, trainings and education, and staff engagement
  • Working knowledge of global frameworks/standards required, including: UN PRI, Global Compact and SDGs; GRI; SASB; LEED; GREBS and Green Bonds for reporting
  • Able to work with external auditors and members of senior management to co-develop expectations, design, and manage project scope, and communicate and interpret key priorities and issues
  • Exemplify a positive attitude, strong work ethic and commitment to teamwork and professionalism
  • Experience with AA1000, ISO 14064-3:2019 strongly preferred
  • Experience developing and assuring GHG emissions inventories a plus
  • Financial statement audit experience a plus
  • Scoping and preparing process documentation, creating test plans, ensuring quality and adherence to methodology through detailed review, ensuring accuracy of conclusions, clearly articulate findings and deliver actionable recommendations, evaluate severity of deficiencies a plus
  • Experience with AICPA Standards, the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA)International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing, COSO 2013 Internal Control Framework, COSO Enterprise Risk Management Framework a plus
  • Ability to travel
