Role/Responsibilities

The Events & Outreach Manager will be responsible for developing creative and multi-format event programs as well as executing outreach activities including webinars, roundtables, briefings, conferences and third-party sponsorships to promote and showcase Moody's thought leadership, products and services.

The Manager will work cross functionally and closely with stakeholders and marketing teams in a fast-paced environment. This person is a creative but metrics-driven individual with a deep understanding of events best practices. Strong written and communication skills and attention to detail are key attributes.

The role:

  • Liaise closely with team members and stakeholders to advise, design and deliver an annual program of in-person and digital events, as well as deliver any ad-hoc initiatives, that are aligned with our company's strategic priorities and in response to market feedback
  • Execute on plan; includes setting KPIs, creating project scopes, sourcing vendors and venues, budgeting, drafting invite language, building project and onsite plans, etc. while corresponding and coordinating with key stakeholders (rehearsals, deadlines, etc.)
  • Liaise with colleagues from adjacent groups to generate target and prospect lists for event attendance, identify gaps in key outreach segments and define strategies to raise attendance and engagement at Moody's events; includes dispatching marketing emails and partnering with Communications to craft a social media plan
  • Deliver white-glove experience to target audience through innovative engagement tools, access to relevant marketing collateral and presentations, and timely responses to incoming inquiries
  • Analyze event outcomes and prepare reports for post-event debriefs to determine successes and future objectives
  • Ensure event data management systems are kept up to date; includes uploading data, checking data quality, producing reports and summaries
  • Develop and implement best practices and scalable frameworks that set a high standard for event experiences; includes deploying processes and resources to help ensure the team executes effectively and efficiently
  • Provide proactive team support for the execution of multi-faceted and complex events around Moody's products and services

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferably in Finance, Business or Marketing with a minimum of 3+ years of events experience across in-person, virtual and hybrid; work experience in financial industry a plus
  • Experience managing events end-to-end from positioning and planning to execution and analysis
  • Self-motivated
  • Team player with cross-functional teamwork experience
  • Insight-oriented project management and strong time management skills; proven ability to think strategically and execute methodically with tight deadlines in a fast paced, changing environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including good negotiation skills
  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to build strong professional relationships with both internal and external parties; demonstrated ability to take initiative and interact with all levels of management
  • Technological-aptitude
  • Proficient in MS suite including Word, Excel, Access, Sharepoint and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of Salesforce, Marketo, Zoom
  • Interested in developing a career in marketing and events management
  • Ability to travel as needed ~10-15%

For US-based roles only: the anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is $64,600 to $110,000, depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location. This range is based on a full-time position. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for incentive compensation. Moody's also offers a competitive benefits package, including not but limited to medical, dental, vision, parental leave, paid time off, a 401(k) plan with employee and company contribution opportunities, life, disability, and accident insurance, a discounted employee stock purchase plan, and tuition reimbursement.
