Job Description

Visa Consulting and Analytics (VCA) drives tangible, impactful and financial results for Visa’s network clients, including both financial services and merchants. Drawing on our expertise in strategy consulting, data analytics, brand management, marketing, operational and macroeconomics, Visa Consulting and Analytics solves the most strategic problems for our clients.

The Strategy and Operations (S&O) team supports the North America VCA team through setting standards, developing foundational processes, assisting with budget and driving operational performance for the consulting organization. This Manager, VCA North America Financial Business Operations role will work on financial and operational projects, with a particular focus on all things relations to VCA Managed Services. VCA Managed Services is a suite of service offerings that together help drive the future growth of the organization, enabling our clients to implement the recommendations derived through strategic advisory engagements.

As the Manager, VCA North America Financial Business Operations you will help enable the team’s growth by analyzing actuals, building budgets, maintaining forecasts, and serving as a strategic partner for the VCA Managed Services leads and other stakeholders. The role will work closely with Finance, VCA segment leaders, Sourcing, and the VCA Managed Services leadership team. 

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the development and tracking of the North America (NA) VMS Annual Operating Plan and other verticals.  Analyze and forecast “carryover” project revenue and reflect it in the AOP baseline. 
  • Analyze “net new” project revenue and reflect it in the AOP baseline.  Determine quarter-over-quarter AOP revenue targets.  Facilitate alignment with other VCA leaders regarding a finalized AOP plan.     
  • Engage with partners to maintain the VCA NA P&L, with focus on VMS. Further refine the existing P&L statement to ensure it accurately reflects true business performance. Update P&L on an ongoing basis.  Forecast project revenue and expense for the quarter and for the fiscal year. Report status to senior leadership     
  • Manage the NA VMS professional services fee budget.  Forecast spend by quarter and year.  Report status of pro fee budget to senior leadership in VCA and Finance. 
  • Manage vendors that bill on a “Time and Materials” basis. 

This includes:

Timecard management (weekly basis).

  • Track Time and Materials for vendors across multiple projects. 
  • Validate timecards with clients.
  • Ensure clear communication around overtime rules and that the vendors are following it.

Invoice management (monthly basis).

  • Ensure weekly timecards are aligned with monthly invoices.  Approve invoices, update Purchase Orders, etc. 

Pro fee “pre booking” (quarterly basis).

  • At quarter end, “pre-book” pro fees prior to the last day of the quarter.  Work with vendors to get the projected pro fees.  Reconcile forecasted pro fees to actuals.
  • Enable NA VCA Segments to book revenue on a monthly or quarterly basis, especially for engagements that are “time and materials” based. 
  • At the end of every quarter, ensure that the NA VMS P&L revenue is aligned with the General Ledger. In case of discrepancies, coordinate with Finance and Segments to determine root cause (e.g., determine whether revenues are linked to the correct VMS revenue center in the General Ledger).
  • Manage the administrative and operational aspect of vendor selection and onboarding process. Collaborate with the Visa procurement team to submit Request for Proposals (RFP) and Statements of Work (SoW) in the internal Visa system, ensuring a correct, seamless and expedited process is approved.
  • Provide VCA Global Leadership with insight into the performance of the VCA Managed Services businesses across global regions.  Gather input from each VCA Managed Services region.  Collate input and publish a quarterly report that summarizes globally and regionally the revenue, margin, and other performance metrics of VCA Managed Services businesses.   
  • Supporting broader S&O team with ad hoc strategic projects that impact the VCA organization
  • Proficient and ideally a power-user of with PowerBI, Excel, PowerApps, and PowerPoint tools
  • Write and optimize SQL queries to access data from different databases and platforms.

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • 5 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelors Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications

  • 6 or more years of work experience with a Bachelors Degree or 4 or more years of relevant experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or up to 3 years of relevant experience with a PhD
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Master’s Degree in Business
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills
  • Excellent communications skills
  • Demonstrated proficiency in developing executive-level presentations
  • Demonstrated expertise in managing complex projects
  • Collaborative approach with internal and external partners
  • Resilient in navigating through ambiguity and translating the theoretical to applicable
  • Growth mindset that embraces creativity, optimism, and failing-fast

Additional Information

Work Hours: Incumbent must make themselves available during core business hours. May require occasional meetings outside of core business hours to connect with global partners and clients.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 25% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 118,500.00 to 171,750.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
