Description
Support the Director Finance and Accounting, Global Financial Services in controlling and reporting ICU Medical's global financials, with responsibilities including global month-end, quarter-end, and annual closing duties as well as global SEC reporting, global enterprise-wide risk management, analytical review, and inter-company control.
Provides commercial and operational financial decision support through financial analysis and consultation that determines present and future financial performance. This role requires advanced modeling and analysis and an ability to synthesize the information into recommendations to senior leadership. Additionally, this role develops analysis of economic indicators to prepare forecasts and analyze company's short, medium, long-term position.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
• Provides financial support to the business unit under the Director of Financial Control and is responsible for improving current business processes to support end users to resolve problems, analyze current results, and project future results.
• Develops key financial measures and reporting to track the overall business performance as well as monitors key performance indicators, working with functional leadership to implement corrective courses of action that improve the effectiveness and profitability of the business.
• Studies data and existing economic, business, and financial conditions and their impact on the greater business performance to develop financial models for analysis and proforma modeling.
• Summarizes results in formats which are comprehensive, consistent and in a format used by business leadership.
• Responsible for following the policies and procedures, maintaining the finance processes, and supporting the overarching finance objectives.
• Subject matter expert in financial systems and participates in the key financial reporting strategic activities of the business, delivering reliable and timely data.
• Responsible for representing the accounting function in cross-functional projects and initiatives and ensuring all accounting and control implications have been considered.
• Responsible for the evaluation of changes in accounting principles and applying the appropriate accounting principles to transactions and events, including the development, documentation, and implementation of accounting policies.
• A key member in supporting the global closing planning, coordination, and consolidation activities.
• Serves as technical member in the preparation of external filings and disclosures, including ad-hoc disclosures as required as well as the preparation of all financial risk management external filings.
• Perform centralized month end accounting as well as monthly review/analysis of financial results for timely submission accurate classification, including oversight of corporate accounting of hedging and other risk management / treasury related activities.
• Responsible for leading and supporting all accounting activities, most notably hedging activities, revolver, term loans, and other treasury related activities as well as supporting the accounting for all complex transactions, acquisitions, divestitures, debt financing activities, and other initiatives as appropriate.
• Monitors, manages, prepares, and reports monthly foreign currency models. Executes monthly hedge accounting entries and forecasting foreign currency exposure, placing forward contract trades, as necessary.
• Gathers data and existing reports to develop financial models as needed for financial risk management analysis and forecasting.
• Serves as technical member in the preparation of external filings and disclosures, including ad-hoc disclosures as required.
• Critical member of supporting the audit of all financial risk management activities, cash flow hedges, interest rate swaps, net investment hedges, balance sheet hedges and other audit activities as required.
• Exposure to other external consultants and service providers for project-based work.
• Performs additional duties as assigned by manager.
Minimum Qualifications, Education & Experience
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Master's degree in Finance/Accounting from an accredited college or university is required.
• Minimum of 7 years of progressive professional experience in a public accounting firm or large-corporate environment. PMP certification is required.
• CIMA or CPA certification is required.
• Minimum of 15 years of related Finance/Accounting experience required.
Work Environment
• This is largely a sedentary role.
• This job operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment.
• Typically requires travel less than 10% of the time.
