Manager, Financial Reporting & Technical Accounting

Workrise is hiring a Manager of Financial Reporting and Technical Accounting who will be in charge of monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting requirements, developing and managing the accounting processes of a growing portfolio of revenue models, advising the business teams on accounting and operational impacts of new product offerings and supporting the technical accounting conclusions across all process. This is a hybrid opportunity based out of our corporate HQ office in downtown Austin. 

What you’ll be doing:

• Manage the timely and accurate preparation of all external financial reports, ensuring financial statements are in accordance with GAAP guidelines
• Lead and establish financial reporting policies and framework to support financial statement close, including related controls.
• Support the annual financial statement audit and work closely with the external auditors to ensure upfront issue management  
• Staying up to date on new technical developments, abreast of technical accounting and reporting matters and addresses any potential impact on the Company
• Ensure revenue accounting policies are documented and applied consistently on a consolidated basis
• Provide revenue recognition guidance and training to cross-functional departments including Sales, Legal, Finance, and Financial Operations
• Evaluate existing and new contracts for revenue recognition in line with ASC 606
• Assist with preparation of quarterly debt certification reporting packages
• Assists in performing technical accounting research for various areas including loan modifications, taxes, foreign currency, stock-based compensation and other matters and prepare related technical accounting memos, including disclosure requirements
• Collaborate with treasury, tax, FP&A and operational accounting teams to ensure a smooth reporting process

What you should have:

• 6-8 years of accounting experience
• 5+ years of Big 4 public accounting experience preferred
• SEC financial reporting experience preferred
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required
• CPA license is required 
• Exceptional project management skills
