Manager, Financial Transactions and Policy
Job Description
Our client, a staffing agency, is currently seeking a Manager of Financial Transactions and Policy to join their Finance - Controllership team in Pittsburgh, PA. The ideal candidate should have a Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, economics, or business administration/management, along with 5+ years of U.S. GAAP accounting experience, 3 years of experience in public accounting with a focus on public company clients, and a Certified Public Accountant. This position is responsible for handling complex accounting issues and transactions, analyzing financial results, and ensuring accurate and timely reporting of financial results for both internal and external purposes. The Manager will evaluate and identify accounting policies and transactions, interpretive value on accounting matters via consultation with business unit and resource unit management, develop and implement procedures for new accounting pronouncements, analyze monthly financial results, and maintain the company's accounting policy manual. The ideal candidate will work closely with members of the Controllership team, Shared Services, Procurement, commercial, financial planning and analysis, treasury, and business unit and resource unit colleagues, building relationships and ensuring appropriate accounting conclusions and strong internal controls are maintained.
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, Economics, or Business Administration/Management from an accredited institution
- 5 years of U.S. GAAP accounting experience
- 3 years of experience in Public Accounting with focus on public company clients
- Knowledge of and experience with internal controls and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements
- Certified Public Accountant
- Master's degree in accounting or finance from an accredited institution (preferred)
- 5 years of experience in Public Accounting with a Big Four accounting firm (preferred)
- Manufacturing experience with a concentration in the metals industry (preferred)
- Extensive knowledge of accounting under U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and SEC reporting requirements (preferred)
- Experience with implementing new U.S. GAAP accounting standards such as revenue recognition or lease accounting (preferred)
- Technical expertise in a broad range of U.S. GAAP accounting areas including but not limited to revenue recognition, lease accounting, impairment of long-lived assets, goodwill valuations, inventory (including cost accounting) and restructuring (preferred)
- 5+ to 7 years experience
- Associate Seniority Level
- Bachelor's Degree in accounting, Finance, Economics, or Business Administration/Management from an accredited institution
- 5 years of U.S. GAAP accounting experience
- 3 years of experience in Public Accounting with focus on public company clients
- Knowledge of and experience with internal controls and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements
- Certified Public Accountant
