Manager, FP&A

Skupos drives revenue growth across all segments of the convenience retail industry through technology that connects both retailers and brands to their shoppers. With a focus on independent stores and small chains which make up nearly 80% of the market, the Skupos platform enables both retailers and brands to compete through better understanding and serving their customers. Founded in 2016, a growing network of 14,000+ customers across all 50 states rely on Skupos to boost sales volume and increase their customer base.
Role
The Manager FP&A will report directly to the COO/CFO and will lead our FP&A function. They will own our financial model and work closely with our executive team to develop our fundraising, partnership and M&A strategies. They will track and report on our financial results, identify opportunities to improve our key metrics, build ad-hoc excel models to evaluate partnership opportunities, and manage relevant external vendors (e.g. Brex, Carta, Netsuite, Recurly). They will be the go-to person for any questions about our financial performance and will help guide the company toward the achievement of its financial goals. They must be a strong communicator, build strong relationships, be willing to roll up their sleeves, and be comfortable operating in a high-growth startup environment.
Responsibilities:
- Closely manage our finances and cash flow to make sure that we meet our financial goals and the requirements of our investors and lenders.
- Own our financial model and track and report on our financial performance. Identify opportunities to improve company performance and partner with the COO to drive accountability throughout the organization.
- Partner with the COO and CEO to create materials to be presented to investors and the Board.
- Work closely with our functional leaders to develop our annual operating plan. Track progress against our plan and partner with the COO to hold functional leaders accountable for hitting their goals.
- Be a thought partner to our COO and CEO regarding fundraising, partnerships and M&A. Build financial models to evaluate potential partnership and M&A opportunities.
- Develop, maintain, and utilize the appropriate financial systems, tools, and resources required to support all of the financial planning, management, and reporting needs of the business.
- Perform operational tasks such as running payroll and tracking commissions for our sales teams.

They are able to translate complex financial issues into easily understood business decisions for all types of audiences. They never avoid tough conversations.
- High degree of emotional intelligence, tact, and executive maturity. This includes a high level of confidence and self-awareness in the face of adversity, and the ability to help the team effectively navigate issues both large and small.
- Outstanding leader. They have a track record leading/influencing others in a performance-driven culture. They are a credible teacher and coach, and lead with transparency and integrity.
- Relentless intellectual curiosity about how things work, from strategy to details. They are also a doer, quick to roll up their sleeves and become involved in the details of the business.
- A positive attitude!
Experience. Candidates should have:
- 5+ years of finance experience with 2+ years FP&A experience.
- Experience at an Investment Bank, VC firm and/or SaaS hyper-growth start-up preferred.
- Expertise at building complex financial models and preparing financial statements.
- Proven track record of partnering with executives and cross-functional partners to develop budgets, identify opportunities to improve key metrics, and influence change throughout an organization.
- CPA, CFA and/or MBA is a bonus.
- Experience with Netsuite preferred.
Salary is based on experience and location.
Salary range in Denver, CO: $145,000-$160,000.
