What You'll Do

The Accounting team is a part of the Business Strategy group in our General Affairs organization here at Samsung Semiconductor, Inc. Our team manages all expenses and assets within this division of Samsung..

As a Manager, General Accounting you will be a key member of Accounting Department. You will be responsible for various accounting functions, including financial reporting, technical accounting research, accounting data analysis, etc. You will lead various process improvement projects within Accounting. Additionally, you will plan, perform, and lead internal control projects that address the compliance of operational policies and processes in various cycles.

You will bring a good mix of financial/operational accounting and audit experiences. The role requires in-depth understanding of key business processes (fixed assets, order to collect, procure to pay, financial close, etc.) and proficiency in identifying risks and potential solutions for improvements.

Location: This is a Hybrid role, working onsite at our San Jose headquarters at least 3 days per week.

  • Understand and evaluate the effectiveness of the company’s current risk management, internal control, and governance processes to lead various process improvement projects in Accounting
  • Analyze accounting data and interpret statistical information to identify areas of improvements and make suggestions for improvements
  • Prepare various accounting reports of financial results and perform in-depth flux analysis
  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of the Company's financial records
  • Support the month end closing processes, including preparing journal entries and account reconciliations for various cycles, etc.
  • Establish, evaluate, and maintain compliance with internal control requirements per HQ
  • Perform internal control testing and identify control gaps to assist in proposing and documenting necessary remediation steps
  • Responds to inquiries from management regarding financial results and special reporting requests
  • Support quarterly external audits and internal audits

What You Bring

  • Bachelors in Accounting and 7 years of experience, or an MS/MBA and 3 years of industry experience preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of key business processes (order to collect, procure to pay, fixed assets, financial close, etc.)
  • 5+ years of experience with an accounting firm or in accounting/audit role at a large global company
  • Big 4 experience is highly desired
  • Experiences and knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley Act and US GAAP or IFRS
  • Strong project management/organizational and planning skills; ability to manage multiple projects efficiently and prioritize tasks to meet project deadlines.
  • Outstanding interpersonal, oral, written, and presentation skills with the ability to comfortably communicate to all levels of management and demonstrate a high degree of professionalism and integrity in all interactions
  • Must be a motivated self-starter with high ethical standards and integrity
  • Familiarity with SAP or other ERP systems
  • Advanced skills of Excel (pivot tables, V-Lookup)

Within the base pay range, individual rates depend on a number of factors—including the role’s function and location as well as the individual’s knowledge, skills, experience, education and training. This is part of our comprehensive compensation package with annual bonus eligibility and generous benefits to help you live life well

Base Pay Range
$108,000—$218,300 USD
