About The Position
Manager, Transmission Connection Agreements is responsible for administering all interconnection and interchange agreements between Ameren's operating companies, interconnected utilities, and wholesale generation and load customers and monitoring the related policies and proceedings.
Key responsibilities include:
- Manage and direct a staff which drafts and administers interconnection and interchange agreements.
- Must be able to write and develop new transmission interconnection and construction agreements with neighboring utilities relating to interconnecting transmission and, to a lesser extent, distribution lines of Ameren's operating companies.
- Should have general understanding of the Ameren transmission and distribution systems.
- Should have familiarity with FERC and MISO processes and filing requirements.
- Will participate on behalf of Ameren in local, regional, and national meetings on contractual issues, and policies affecting contractual issues, relating to interconnection and construction agreements.
- Will provide contractual technical support to various company personnel with regard to Ameren's interconnection and interchange agreements.
- May participate on behalf of Ameren in regulatory proceedings before state and federal agencies and other entities, including MISO.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university required; preferably in Engineering, Legal, Business or other related degree. Seven or more years of relevant work experience required (e.g., contracting, legal, engineering, transmission). Three or more years of supervisory or team/project leadership experience is required. Experience writing and negotiating agreements and ability to write agreements and contracts preferred. Knowledge of FERC and MISO Tariff requirements, including but not limited to those provisions governing Generator Interconnections, is preferred.
In addition to the above qualifications, the successful candidate will demonstrate:
Good analytical, communication, supervisory and human relations skills; Knowledge or background in power systems, contracts and technical issues related to the transmission grid; and the following Ameren competencies: Think Customer, Inspire and Engage, Foster Innovation, Drive Results, Champion Learning, Build Trust, and Be Strategic.
Additional Information
Ameren's selection process includes a series of interviews and may include a leadership assessment process. Specific details will be provided to qualified candidates.
