Manager, Global Payroll
Job Description
The Manager, Global Payroll is responsible for accuracy, oversight and processing of Global payroll. This person will directly manage the USA and Canadian payroll process, while providing support and review to European and India payrolls. This position addresses tight deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities including payroll review, , calculations, data accuracy, oversight of payroll administration processes and year-end audit preparation.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Owns the end-to-end payroll process for US and Canadian employees in partnership with the Payroll Supervisor
- Manages relationships with external vendors to process international payroll, equity, and commission transactions
- Continually evaluates the configuration and optimization of the existing payroll processes and platforms
- Establishes processes for payroll and time tracking that optimize for accuracy and scalability
- Ensures the successful onboarding of new companies onto GHX’s payroll platforms and processes through the development of a detailed M&A playbook
- Creates an excellent employee experience through the development of self-service resources, proactive communications and by managing payroll and equity-related inquiries across multiple channels
- Anticipates, develops, and improves internal audit capabilities to ensure all compliance requirements are met
- Manages the payroll administrator to ensure all payroll submission deadlines are met and to ensure accurate and timely payroll submissions
- Works with HR and Total Rewards to ensure the timely and accurate processing of compensation and benefit transactions
- Manages the ongoing registration of states so we can ensure compliance for all regulatory obligations
- Supports overall organization’s internal control compliance requirements through adherence to key controls and timely completion of reporting
- Responsible for all aspects of compensation including but not limited to detailed review of payroll submissions to third party preparer
- Partners with Accounting and Finance on payroll related reporting and reconciliations
- Assists with providing requests for the year-end audit
- Selects and hires employees as necessary. Trains and evaluates employees to enhance their performance, development, and work product. Addresses performance issues and makes recommendations for personnel actions. Work with direct report(s) to establish goals and objectives for each year and monitor and advise on the progress to enhance the professional development of staff
- Complete ad-hoc analysis and projects supporting the Controller and provide appropriate decision support information

Required Education, Certifications, and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Seven years of relevant experience, including understanding of hourly, salaried, and global payroll practices (specifically in Europe and India)
- Two or more years of leadership/management experience
- Ability to work overtime on short notice when needed
- History of proven process improvement experience
Preferred Qualifications
- SaaS experience is desirable
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP)
- Dayforce experience
- Experience with a high turnover hourly workforce
Estimated Salary Range for this position:Â $94,000 - $125,000
The base salary range represents the anticipated low and high end of the GHX’s salary range for this position. The base salary is one component of GHX’s total compensation package for employees.
