Job Description

The Commercial Sales Data Models manager will coordinate and drive the implementation, and documentation of data modeling solutions. These include the use of relational, dimensional, and SQL databases. This is an integral part of the CDSI Team that transforms the data owned by the Commercial Data Center of Excellence into models that can be consumed by the Sales Insight Center of Excellence. This person will have to define the goals and priorities to continuously improve how the data is interconnected supporting the business needs of the reporting community across Rockwell Automation

Job What You'll Do
  • Implementation of new or improved sales data flows, either through an internal team or external vendors.
  • Product Owner for Analytics capability teams.
  • Execute on optimization of data query performance via best practices. The candidate must be able to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Partner with IT to implement changes to support ongoing requirements to support the sellers.
  • Ensure best practices are used to drive high data quality and reduced redundancy. Optimize and update logical and physical data models to support new and existing projects.
  • Use best practices for standard naming conventions and coding practices to ensure consistency of data models.
  • Recommend opportunities for reuse of data models in new environments and constantly drive simplification and centralization.
  • Review modifications to existing software to improve efficiency and performance.
  • Lead and mentor a team of technical but highly motivated business driven individuals.
  • Review and approve code implementation in Databricks, SQL, AAS, PBI GEN2 and CI/CD
  • Ensure adequate testing is done in all layers of the stack
  • Optimize data for use across the Microsoft Power Platform


Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Ability to travel up to 10%

Requirements:
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with customer data architecture, data modeling, and data design and administration
  • Minimum 5 years of experience developing data reference models along with conceptual, logical, and physical data models
  • Ability to present requirements to technical implementation teams to create the proposed solutions.
