Audience analyst

This is a remote-based position

In the past few years, younger Americans have brought renewed energy and focus to the reckonings with justice, equity and power. Reckon has been there, covering those movements, issues and perspectives and shining a light on the people in the South and elsewhere.

Now, we're elevating our work to a national stage, and we're looking for an audience analyst to help us better understand Reckon's current and future audiences and evolve our growth strategies.

Reporting to the VP of Audience, the person in this role will research future markets and opportunities for Reckon's national expansion and deliver data-driven insights to Reckon's leadership team. They will help monitor the performance of content across platforms and products, translate insights into reports and advise the newsroom on best practices. The person in this role should have deep experience with Google Analytics and be an expert in Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

• Conduct market research and analyze consumer insights to determine opportunities for expansion to new markets.
• Translate data and develop insights about our audiences to inform content strategy.
• Help develop strategies to grow addressable audiences in new markets.
• Work with audience team to test and evaluate new approaches.
• Advise the newsroom on best practices, develop meaningful metrics and dashboards, and train editors and reporters.
• Provide in-depth reporting and analysis to the leadership team.
