MANAGER HIPPA OPERATIONS HIM
Job Description
Federal and State Regulations that govern Protected Health Information (PHI) are complex and diverse. MMC maintains PHI in various mediums and at various sites. HIM is the portal through which most inquiries and requests are directed. This position must provide direction, guidance and oversight of activities relating to release of Protected Health Information (PHI) at MMC. This position must ensure that Montefiore's policies and procedures relating to uses and disclosures of PHI and nuances of sensitive information are current and are designed to meet all regulatory (Federal and State) requirements in terms of privacy and confidentiality. The position must provide training in Montefiore's policies and procedures relating to uses and disclosures of PHI and provide consultative support relating to uses and disclosures of PHI. This manager must provide direction in the selection, implementation and maintenance of systems that would track disclosures and provide for operational efficiencies in handling requests for information and provide leadership in the development and implementation of corrective measures to ensure system integrity and operational efficiency. The manager must maintain current knowledge of the changing requirements in order to provide up to date direction.
EDUCATION AND REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's Degree is required.
Must have a minimum of three year's experience.
HIM Credentials as RHIA / RHIT / Privacy & Security.
