How you will make an impact

The Manager, Human Resources (HR) supports HR operations, benefits administration, leave of absence (LOA) management and enhancing the employee experience. They contribute to the HR Operations service model, enterprise-wide people initiatives and support the total rewards function. They are the subject matter authority for all corporate benefits and the main point of contact for employee benefit questions and partner concerns. This position requires a balance of analytical, detail-oriented work as well as strategic problem solving and program execution. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who can drive process improvements, streamline operations, and maintain compliance with company policies and legal regulations.

In this role, you'll have the opportunity to:

  • Lead all aspects of employee benefits programs, including health insurance, wellness initiatives and other perks. Educate employees on available benefits options and serve as main point of contact for all benefits-related inquiries and issues, enhancing their understanding and appreciation of the offerings.
  • Serve as main point of contact for benefits vendors and brokers, ensuring timely and accurate administration of benefits programs and high quality service levels.
  • Lead benefits system configuration and administration to ensure user-friendly enrollment workflows, the availability of concise and accurate benefits information to employees, and reliable benefits enrollment & cost reporting.
  • Administer LOA programs in compliance with federal and state regulations, company policies and best practices. Guide employees through the LOA process, including providing information, required notices, while prioritizing their well-being and experience. Stay abreast of legal and regulatory changes affecting HR operations, benefits and LOA administration.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as relevant laws and regulations, while maintaining a focus on fairness and equity for all employees.
  • Conduct audits and reviews to identify areas for improvement and mitigate compliance risks, ensuring that policies and practices align with the organization's commitment to a positive employee experience and one team culture.
  • Develop reports on costs, utilization, and success of people programs; make data-driven recommendations for improvements.
  • Proactively find opportunities to streamline processes, automate tasks, and improve the efficiency of HR operations, always with an eye toward enhancing the employee experience.
  • Implement innovate solutions to enhance the delivery of HR services and support the organization's strategic objectives, driving engagement and satisfaction among employees.

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Accounting, Finance or related field with minimum of 8 years experience in HR operations, benefits administration, and LOA management preferably in a fast-paced environment (an equivalent combination of experience and education may be considered)
  • Proven knowledge of HRIS platforms, benefits systems, with some configuration experience, preferably with Workday as well as relevant regulations (e.g., FMLA, ADA, ACA,)
  • Experience analyzing and conceptualizing complex issues and consequences to achieve positive results
  • Experience maintaining strict confidentiality of data and information
  • Proven track record of leading sophisticated projects to successful completion, delivering on-time, on-target.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite, and other relevant programs pertaining to HR and Payroll; including ability to work with data and build slides, graphs, charts, etc. Experience with using different payroll and benefits programs, including system implementations. Advanced knowledge of Excel with validated skills, including use of VLOOKUPs and pivot tables.
  • Proven track record of managing multiple priorities and delivering results in a deadline driven environment

The most likely base pay range for this position is $100K - $152K per year. Several factors, such as experience, tenure, skills, and particular business needs, will determine an individual's exact level of compensation. Base salary is only one element of employee compensation at Halozyme. Total compensation could include bonuses, sales incentives, and equity awards.
