TE's Application Tooling team has an established history of innovation, from the invention of the first solderless crimp hand tool in 1941 through the recent launch of automated machines to process high voltage cable terminations for hybrid electric vehicles. Our flexible solutions range from hand tools for prototyping and low production needs up to state-of-the-art equipment that can produce millions of crimps a year.
The Application Tooling team is seeking an Engineering Manager II to lead our Global Applicator Engineering team. This role will report to the Application Tooling CTO-Director of Engineering.
In this challenging and rewarding position, you will lead the global engineering teams responsible for designing, analyzing, and optimizing products within the applicator product portfolio to meet customer objectives and the product management strategy. You will frequently collaborate with other engineering managers, project managers, product managers, manufacturing teams, quality engineers, customers and others to help ensure project alignment and prioritization to ensure on-time delivery of products and project deliverables.
The ideal candidate will have strong leadership, problem solving and communication skills in addition to experience with tooling design, preferably related to wire crimping technologies, as well as demonstrated engineering aptitude and a bias towards action.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide strong technical and strategic leadership to the global applicator engineering teams
- Drive the implementation of the global engineering strategy across teams
- Foster a culture of innovation and drive creativity of ideas as well as end products and solutions
- Collaborate with other global engineering team leaders and functional leaders within application tooling to ensure on-time delivery of products and project deliverables
- Support the Business Office in their efforts to assist customers to solve application problems and resolve these problems with new and modified designs
- Work with other TE Business Units in support of their product launches
- Coordinate engineering related communication to customers as well as to Senior Management
- Develop and implement policies, standards and procedures for the engineering and technical work performed in the department
- Build on the foundation of TEOA/continuous improvement in the organization and move the engineering organization towards the determined improvement goals
- Contribute to the implementation of digital engineering tools and processes
- Assess talent and implement development plans to assure succession planning and organization capability
- Maintain a high-performing team by setting a high standard, actively coaching, and ensuring the effective use of resources
- Accurately forecast engineering spend and maintain budgets
Skills, Experience & Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent, a master's degree would be preferred
- 5+ years related Engineering experience with 2+ years managing teams
- Ideally experienced in electrical connectivity solutions, tooling design, and/or wire crimping technologies
- Comfortable to work in a fast-paced, international organization
- Strong motivational, leadership and communication skills
- Fast learner, able to quickly familiarize her/himself with existing methods and practices and new concepts/ideas
- Problem solving attitude and execution focus
- Exceptional skill at project planning, organizing and prioritizing tasks
- Demonstrated experience in leading and building a diverse team of technical experts
- Ability to travel globally is required

Compensation:
- Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $117,500 - $176,300 year (subject to change dependent on physical location)
- Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
