Summary of Role/Position

This leadership position is responsible for overseeing the company's international logistics operations and ensuring that all import activities are conducted in a timely and cost-effective manner. The candidate is adept at strategic thinking, but is equally hands-on, attentive to details, highly organized and possesses a strong sense of urgency to achieve deliverables. This person is expected to collaborate with numerous internal and external business partners and provide solutions for end-to-end logistics execution.

YOU WILL:

• Develop and implement strategies to optimize the inbound logistics network

• Manage inbound shipments across all vendors, origins and DC destinations
• Appropriately regulate and optimize inbound flows to each DC on an ongoing basis
• Implement and manage inbound cargo track and trace systems
• Perform data management through a combination of data mining, data modeling, data analysis, cost-benefit analysis, process mapping, and problem analysis
• Develop and communicate metrics and KPIs that drive continuous improvement

• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to identify and implement process improvements
• Lead and collaborate in developing and upgrading SOPs and work instructions
• Demonstrate excellence in operational execution, leverage technologies and seek automation opportunities
• Manage 3PLs and their performance: booking agents, ocean carriers, freight forwarders, customs broker, and truckers
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal stakeholders, e.g., purchasing, inventory planning, logistics, DC operations and finance. Ensure business needs are understood and incorporated into new processes and procedures

• Lead and manage a small team of logistics professionals

YOU MUST HAVE:

• Bachelors' Degree in logistics, supply chain or relevant discipline
• At least 5 years' experience in international transportation operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role

• Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills
• Superior proficiency in MS EXCEL and data-management applications
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization in a professional manner
• Mandarin proficiency (essential)
• Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, prioritize and lead projects on a self-directed basis

• A detail-oriented and organized approach, able to multi-task and deliver results under pressure
• Ability to travel 10-15% of the time
• Previous working experience in automotive, retail or freight forwarding logistics operations is an advantage
