Manager, Information Systems
Job Description
We're currently looking for a Manager, Information Systems to join our team in Franklin, TN
This role will be responsible for leading the PMO (Project Management Office) consisting of project managers and scrum masters assigned to a large portfolio of technology projects in the M&S (Marketing & Sales) domain for our US operations. In addition, this role will provide PMO oversight and program management for strategic cross region M&S technology initiatives across Americas. This role manages a team consisting of full time and contract staff.
Job functions Include but are not limited to:
- Program/Project Management: Manage PMs to ensure projects align with desired business outcome, on planned schedule, manage scope, escalate issues, hold vendors accountable, ensure status is reported to senior management, and maintain budgeted cost.
- Portfolio Management : Closely work with other managers from the M&S technology team as they define Strategy, Roadmap and Business Value of various projects from their areas and oversee the planning of overall portfolio of M&S projects for current and future years. Closely work with Office of CIO for portfolio review, budget prioritization and funding approvals.
- Manage and maintain the project in-take process, ensure resources assigned to highest impact/benefit projects, and ensure status of prioritization and project portfolio is well communicated to management and staff.
- Manage technology outsource vendor relationships. Develop agreements, objectives, SLAs and manage vendors to ensure efficient and cost effective use of resources and services.
- Participates in annual budget planning process, understand all costs (projects, software, maintenance, etc.), manage and develop initiatives to reduce costs and budget
- For new projects, manage accurate estimation/forecasting, cost analysis, business case/benefit development and present projects (regionally & globally) for approval to senior management including directors. Oversee the projects thru the required funding approval process.
- Management Accountabilities: Manage internal staff, external contractors, vendor resources and/or offshore resources. Supervise and provide leadership, coaching, guidance, training and staff development. Interviews and select unit employees. Plan and evaluate employee performance. Recommends merit increases, transfers and promotions. Coach and address employee performance as necessary. Manage career development plans and succession planning.

Qualifications:
Experience:
Seven or more years of IS/IT experience.
Project / Program Management:
Three or more years of experience in project management. Agile Scrum experience a strong plus. Prefer large project or program management experience that involves multiple technology solutions across multiple business units or geographical locations.
Supervisory Experience:
Three or more years as an intermediate level manager or supervisor, providing leadership, coaching, guidance, and training and contributing to staff development. Supervised subordinates or contractors whose roles were diverse in roles and objectives (e.g., Project Managers, Scrum Masters, Solution Architects, Business Analysts, etc.).
Job Knowledge and Skill:
Knowledge of technology project management, vendor management, contract management and customer relationship management skills. Working knowledge of automotive business systems is a plus. Strong oral and written communications skills, interpersonal skills, and conflict resolution skills.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in a related discipline. Advanced degree preferred. Technology Management or Program/project management certifications a plus. Agile scrum related certifications a plus.
Computer Skills:
Advanced knowledge of project management tools (e.g. Clarity) , forecasting, portfolio management and/or collaboration tools
