We are looking for a Manager, Inventory & Logistics. As a Manager, Inventory & Logistics,  you’ll be part of a cross-functional team whose mission is to lead IonQ on its journey to build the world’s best quantum computers to solve the world’s most complex problems. 

In this position, you will be responsible for inventory and logistics management for IonQ, including the people management of the teams supporting these efforts. While this position is based at IonQ’s headquarters in College Park, MD. This position is considered to primarily be an in-office position, but has flexibility for limited remote work. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Oversee and manage inventory activities for IonQ to include, but not limited to: executing cycle counts, executing full physical inventory events, receiving/picking inventory, completing month-end/quarter-end activities related to inventory management, people management of full-time and temporary employees
  • Establish, maintain, document, and oversee IonQ’s inventory and logistics strategy, processes, and execution to include the development and management of key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, to include, but not limited to SOX
  • Manage a team responsible for inventory and logistics management supporting IonQ’s College Park location. Managerial duties include, but are not limited to, the hiring, objective setting, development, performance management of team members, and cost tracking/management
  • Support the inventory setup of a Seattle, WA IonQ location and other future locations
  • Collaborate regularly with manufacturing, accounting, finance, procurement, and other departments to establish/improve processes and resolve issues, both proactively and reactively
  • Travel between IonQ locations as needed (approximately 20-30% travel)
    • First 6 months of employment, travel with be ~30% to Bothell, WA

You’d be a good fit with: 

  • Ability to implement strategic and long-term thinking while balancing the immediate execution of business needs 
  • Ability to thrive in a high level of ambiguity with limited managerial oversight
  • Strong people/team management skills and change management skills
  • Experience working in ERP systems, NetSuite preferred
  • Minimum 7 years experience in inventory and logistics management, with a minimum of 3 years managerial experience
  • Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or other related discipline
  • Strong sense of business acumen, with a strong understanding of the accounting implications of inventory transactions
  • Ability to create, track, manage and report key performance indicators to monitor inventory and logistics performance/health
  • Strong sense of customer service, for both internal and external customers

You’d be a great fit with:

  • Experience managing a team of remote employees
  • Experience scaling operations in size and/or complexity
  • Experience managing inventory of fragile parts with specific handling/storage requirements
  • Strong familiarity with inventory management in a government-contracting environment
  • Comfort interacting with auditors, both internal and external

Our HQ is located in College Park, Maryland and we are a 15 minute metro ride from Washington DC. We are actively building out teams in the Washington D.C., Seattle, and Boston metro areas and will want to locate you in one of these geographies. However, IonQ will be expanding into additional geographies both domestically and internationally so don’t let this stop you from applying.
