Job Summary

The Manager, IT Solutions manages a cross-functional team that performs business analysis, design, develop, implement, and integrate enterprise business applications focused on Producer Management & Commissions within the Retail Markets’ Agency domain.  In addition this role will set the strategic direction of the core enterprise applications for the organization and develop and execute roadmaps for applications owned.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Plan, prioritize, and align resources across multiple projects/programs and collaborate with project managers and sponsors to refine scope, vision, and delivery
  • Maintain relationships and effectively interface with senior management, direct reports, other development teams, business/technology customers, and vendors
  • Responsible for engaging in excellent teamwork and collaboration through influencing skills in working with staff across the organization
  • Manage both local and remote FTE and FTC resources to create a high performing cohesive team
  • Support the F&G technology ecosystem in collaboration with Solution Architect(s) and in alignment with Enterprise Architecture policy, standards, and guidance
  • Support IT leadership in financial planning and timing of solutions delivery
  • Promote a diverse and engaging work environment through education, training, and professional development opportunities
  • Responsible for performance management of team members
  • Lead various business units across IT to understand, implement, and promote the use of new technology solutions and methods to improve business processes, efficiency, effectiveness and value delivered to customers
  • Manage teams to improve customer processes and design data solutions in partnership with Engineering and Architecture
  • Oversee teams that use monitoring, scheduling, and system performance tools to improve operational efficiency, maintain system health, and identify issues to meet Service Level Agreements
  • Set the strategic direction of the core enterprise applications for the organization
  • Manage cross-functional teams that perform business analysis, design, develop, implement, and integrate enterprise business applications
  • Continuously improve IT processes
  • Develop and execute roadmaps for applications owned
  • Effectively communicate at all levels up to and including SVPs
  • Effectively manage vendors to obtain appropriate level of services

Experience & Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or similar or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years’ experience managing direct reports, including staff management, mentoring, conducting performance reviews, managing team tasks, work schedules, and creation of development plans
  • Experience managing remote employees, consultants, and vendors
  • Prior experience working in an effective SOX/internal control environment
  • Experience with various SDLC methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, etc.)
  • Experience working with vendors for data acquisition and integration
  • Excellent working knowledge of the current industry standard enterprise applications

Preferred Requirements

  • Experience working within an IT organization of a Life/Annuity insurer

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities, assign appropriate resources, ensure quality, and maintain high standards
