Job Description:

Description: The Mgr IT Technology is responsible for the management and support of the hospital storage and server infrastructure and related network resources. This job is also responsible for planning, coordination, and control of the activities of Desktop Services. Responsible for ongoing analysis, design and implementation of projects and new technologies in support of hospital needs.

Typical Duties:

  1. Organizes and manages technical project plans in accordance with the strategic plan, and analyzes and recommends appropriate solutions to requests.
  2. Responsible for the implementation of network security systems and policies ensuring the integrity of network devices and the confidentiality of information stored on the Hospital network.
  3. Ensures the Data Network and Telecom performance and maintenance comply with the hospital's standard to ensure system's efficiency.
  4. Develops and utilizes new network system features in support of hospital functions.
  5. Monitors Help Desk requests and incidents to ensure compliance with existing service levels.
  6. Develops action plans and solutions for user or system problems exceeding established problem resolution goals.
  7. Ensures that all Server/Storage system changes are properly tested and documented prior to implementation, following change management procedures.
  8. Assesses plans, coordinates and evaluates appropriate training and continuing education of team members.
  9. Communicates effectively in order to provide optimal support of all departments' information systems needs and to promote a professional climate throughout the hospital.
  10. Proactively retain, develop, and recruit an efficient team through regular strategic coaching, skills mentoring, and annual evaluations.
  11. Maintains a detailed working knowledge of all assigned software packages, applications and databases so as to efficiently support the hospital's information system needs.
  12. Manages customer relationships through direct communication with customers or partners to ensure timely and focused escalations.
  13. Recommends enhancements, additions, or changes that will assist in meeting the needs of the staff, department, or the Health Technology Solutions Department.
  14. Provides staffing plans for any on-call (non-business hours) support when necessary, at established times, and in accordance with the policies and procedures of the Health Technology Solutions Department.
  15. Independently identify client needs, establish priorities, and develop plans to use resources to meet those priorities.
  16. Performs other job related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

    Required Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree in computer science or related field from an accredited University.
  • 2 plus years of professional information systems management training and experience.
  • 2 plus years of experiences in management, information systems design, and implementation of health care applications.
  • 6 plus years of experience acceptable in lieu of formal academic preparation.
  • Preferred Education and Experience:

  • 2 plus years of experience with primary hospital applications and platforms.
  • 2 plus years of experience in health care or related field desirable.
