Department: Global Marketing Strategy

The primary responsibility of this position is to further MLB in its sponsorship sales efforts in Korea, spanning across a wide variety of assets including: Rights, Digital and Events as well as work with the team in New York on identifying Korean brands who have an interest in partnering with MLB in the US. We are in search of a key member of Major League Baseball’s International Corporate Partnership’s team that has a desire to become an essential piece in the growth and development of MLB’s business in Korea and aid in maintaining our position within the industry as a leader in first of their kind integrated partnerships and sponsorship sales

 Responsibilities

  • Identifying and soliciting new corporate partners for MLB in Korea
  • Identifying and soliciting new corporate partners for MLB globally
  • Cold calling potential partners
  • Working with the team in New York to develop partnership packages
  • Face-to-face sales meetings and presentations
  • Maintaining and presenting client pipelines
  • Developing sales presentations and proposals
  • Tracking new and existing revenue
  • Working with the team in New York to ensure delivery on deal assets and maintaining post sale relationship
  • Managing existing partnership inventory
  • Work closely with the local offices to identify new sponsorable inventory
  • Building long-lasting, meaningful relationships with corporate decision makers and executing numerous partnerships with them across MLB’s portfolio of properties

Qualifications & Skills

  • 5+ Years of sales experience with proven success in partnership sales
  • Fluent in English and Korean
  • Solid rolodex with high level context at large and midsize corporations, particularly companies with sponsorship portfolios
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Detail oriented with strong organization and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent proposal writing, and proposal structuring skills needed including extraordinary attention to detail, consistency and grammar when reviewing and creating proposals, reports, and other documents
  • Ability to work well with others in a team environment and form strong relationships with colleagues, clients, agencies, brands, teams, leagues, and sports & entertainment organizations
  • Proven ability to establish and maintain an honest and effective working relationship
  • Willing and able to travel as needed
  • Must maintain a positive attitude, professionalism, integrity, motivation and a strong work ethic
  • A passionate interest in sports business and experience within the sports business industry, specifically corporate partnerships
