We're hiring a smart, nimble Operations Manager - Launch to lead critical markets for Instawork, help them graduate from infancy to a mature state, and iterate on a playbook to allow Instawork launch anywhere.
 
In this role, you will be based in and/or regularly travel the markets you own for 3 months at a time, performing critical on-the-ground activities, and lead a high-performing, cross-functional team. We want you obsessed about the health of your market! Frequent travel and short-term relocation is necessary.
 
This is a highly customer facing role (both Partners and Pros), as you will be the face of Instawork and the General Manager who helps drive success. You must be willing to do things that don't scale and also effectively collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders across the organization to drive high Partner activity in the markets you lead.

What You’ll Do

  • Working cross-functionally with Sales Executives supporting your markets to help them identify and close the highest-value Partners
  • Working cross-functionally with Account Managers supporting your markets to re-engage dormant Partners and ensure Instawork maximizes share of wallet with active Partners by performing activities such as regular onsite visits and Pro whitegloving
  • Working cross-functionally with Corporate Development to evaluate M&A opportunities to grow active Partner count as quickly as possible
  • Working cross-functionally with Marketing and Product to create programs, in areas like referrals, to ensure your markets have high levels of qualified Pros
  • Working cross-functionally with Strategic Communications to build a database of media-ready Partners and Pros to support local PR efforts
  • This role will involve frequent travel and require some weekend availability, based on profile of the markets and Partners you support

Who You Are

  • 2-5 years experience in management consulting, investment banking, and/or technology
  • Has a passion to talk to and delight customers
  • Can thrive in ambiguity and be a self-starter
  • Is detail-oriented, with a strong passion for problem-solving
  • Basic SQL Experience 
  • Is excited to work in a fast-paced environment, is comfortable with making decisions in ambiguity, and has a strong bias for action
  • Understands the common metrics used in the internet industry along with business growth metrics such as retention, churn, etc.
  • Able to & excited for temporary relocation to help launch your new markets
