Job Description
The Manager, Market Registration and Operational Compliance, will be responsible for ensuring Invenergy’s existing ERCOT generating assets, as well as the pipeline of development projects, remain compliant with the ERCOT Nodal Protocols; including market registration, filings, routine and ad-hoc compliance, reporting obligations, and the internal response coordination of existing and new rules affecting ERCOT generating assets. This leader will also be responsible for monitoring changes to ERCOT market rules as they apply to the construction, interconnection, and the operation of generation projects.
Based out of our downtown Chicago office, the Manager will use their regulatory ISO/RTO compliance administration, electricity markets, and relationship management expertise to fulfil the job responsibilities with limited managerial oversight and cross-functional collaboration. This role will have a direct report.
ResponsibilitiesÂ
- Independently drive end-to-end planning, coordination, and execution of assigned deliverables supporting ERCOT market participant registration, Asset commissioning, and reoccurring compliance performance obligations.
- Lead Nodal protocol rule application and policy considerations
- Compose concise statements reflecting the application of synthesized evidence to the applicable regulatory rule to determine compliance
- File applicable project registration and qualification request(s) in accordance with ERCOT Nodal Protocols
- Serve as Market Information System (“MIS”) portal access management custodian
- Actively monitor operational market rule changes as they apply to our generation projects
- Collaborate with Invenergy personnel in operations, business development, asset management, legal, NERC, and trading functionsÂ
- Partner with the Government & Regulatory Affairs team to develop, advocate and implement policy changes that will further the competitive position of the company
- Enhance and manage program procedures and policies
- Support the development, implementation, and monitoring of internal controls
- Develop and maintain KPIs that reflect program performance
- Proactively manage reoccurring tasks and registration schedule
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned
Requirement SkillsÂ
- 5+ years of a demonstrated working knowledge/application aptitude of the ERCOT Nodal Protocols or other organized power market. Knowledge of ERCOT highly preferred.Â
- Base knowledge of electricity market and auction rules (day ahead, real time, capacity, ancillary services, etc.).
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, or Engineering or commensurate job experience. MBA or law degree preferred.Â
- Strong ability to learn and utilize enterprise software systemsÂ
- Ability to use independent judgement to identify and to solve complex problems
- Advanced organizational and presentation/facilitation
- Excellent verbal and written communication skillsÂ
- Strong interpersonal skills with the desire to work in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment and meet competing deadlines
- Willingness to travel between 10 -20%
