Why We Need You:
PEMCO has a dynamic and challenging opportunity for a Manager, Marketing Communications to join our community. In this role, you will be responsible for leading PEMCO's branded content and communications strategy and execution across all communications channels including email, public relations, social media, video, audio, web, and internal communications. The Manager, Marketing Communications manages a team of Marketing Communications Managers and reports to the Director, Brand & Creative.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Lead PEMCO marketing copy and content strategy, including customer messaging, social media, company-wide email outreach, community events, public relations and media outreach, and internal and external talking points.
- Evolve messaging and brand standards and evangelize them within the organization to ensure consistent execution of the PEMCO brand identity across all communications both internal and external.
- Produce branded digital and printed content for events, website, email marketing, etc. including but not limited to videos, marketing brochures, web landing pages, and social posts.
- Oversee PEMCO's media relations, focusing on maintaining and improving the company's public image through enhanced communications with press and broadcast media; develop and produce public relations and publicity programs, write press releases, handle media relations, and schedule senior management and appropriate staff interviews.
- Collaborate closely with the executive team to interpret business goals and provide a communications vision and compelling strategy grounded in deep audience insights and an understanding of our business, industry, corporate culture, and brand promise.
- Collaborate closely with the creative design team to ensure message, content, and tone are in harmony with visual design.
- Test innovative communications approaches to find new ways to engage internal and external stakeholders and amplify PEMCO's brand.
- Oversee multiple communications projects and brand campaigns; set goals and metrics for success; track performance, capture lessons learned, and course correct as needed; report insights and results to the executive team regularly.
- Manage relationships with partners and vendors to ensure objectives are achieved on-time, on-budget.
- Develop and manage and communications prioritization process to ensure projects are delivered successfully.
- Ensure content complies with all legal and regulatory requirements.
- Deliver expert storytelling with a narrative eye and keen understanding of how content can motivate audiences to act.
- Serve as corporate communications expert and trusted advisor.
- Provide counsel and support to executive team on internal and external marketing communications opportunities including internal meetings, messaging, mediums, external articles, events, speeches, etc.
- Manage a team of direct [and indirect] reports, with performance management and development responsibilities.
- Manage department budget and resources responsibly.
- Execute on strategy with precision through establishing effective teams and leading others in analyzing and solving complex problems.
- Demonstrate behaviors consistent with PEMCO's policies, values, code of ethics and business conduct.

What You'll Bring:
- B.A. or B.S. degree or equivalent work experience (Communications, Marketing, Public Relations) is required
- 6+ years of experience in marketing communications or corporate communications roles involving content strategy and execution, and including leadership of marketing communications staff is required
- MS Office: Skilled proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook is required
- Leadership & Managing Others: Establishes and communicates a compelling and inspiring vision, creates winning strategies and plans, ensures team goals are aligned with company goals; develops both self and others is required
- Job Specific: Proven track record developing successful integrated digital brand campaigns encompassing events, advertising, public relations, and lead generation programs is required
- Composure: Remains calm, maintains perspective and responds in a professional timely manner, when faced with tough situations. Demonstrates patience and resilience, is deliberate, leads through ambiguity with compassion during difficult times is required
- Confidentiality: Has a high degree of integrity and the ability to exercise discretion in confidential situations is required
- Communicator: Communicates clearly and informatively, verbally and in writing, with colleagues, customers, and the community in both technical and non-technical professional language is required

- Advanced literacy & writing: Demonstrates the ability to communicate, spoken and written, in increasingly diverse ways and with increasingly diverse audiences is required
- Organizational Savvy: Interfaces cross-functionally with both technical depth and business savvy. Understands company goals and objectives; thinks critically about business challenges and resolutions. Demonstrates keen listening and observation skills to spot and bring to life the little things that make the organization unique is required
- Project Management: Has a proven track record of driving and motivating cross-functional team members to successfully implement technology or business projects
- Precision: Is detail orientated and has a strong desire for accuracy and thoroughness is required.

Compensation:
The compensation range for this role is shown below. Placement within the range varies depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
- Greater Seattle Area*: The pay range for this position ranges from $119,425-$198,742
- Outside Greater Seattle**: The pay range for this position ranges from $107,321-$178,868
*Greater Seattle Area is defined as working within approximately 100 miles of Seattle.
**Outside Greater Seattle is defined as working approximately 100 miles or more from Seattle.
Benefits:
Regular part-time PEMCO employees working at least 24 hours per week and regular full-time PEMCO employees are eligible to elect coverage under medical, dental, and vision plans for themselves and their eligible family members with generous employer premium cost shares. In addition, as a benefits-eligible employee, you are:
- covered by employer-paid basic life and accidental death & dismemberment insurance policies as well as long- and short-term disability benefit coverages.
- eligible to participate in PEMCO's 401(k) plan which includes a generous employer match (2 for 1 on the first 6% employee pre-tax and/or Roth deferral, up to federal maximums).
PEMCO provides the following paid leave programs for benefits-eligible employees in their first year of PEMCO employment:
- Vacation accrues at a rate of 10 days for new hires, and increases based on a schedule to a maximum annual accrual of 25 days based on tenure
- Granted four (4) personal days immediately upon hire
- Paid holidays for the eight (8) holidays observed by PEMCO throughout the calendar year.
- Granted up to ten (10) days of sick leave immediately upon hire (pro-rated based on hire date and full-time/part-time status), which is approximately 28 hours more per year than the Washington state-required accrual
- In addition, PEMCO provides paid time off for bereavement, jury duty and employee volunteering in the community.

Other compensation depending on role, contributions, and performance may include:
- Discretionary bonuses
