Job Summary: The Manager, Media Strategy is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing comprehensive media strategies to support the organization's marketing and communication goals. This role requires a strategic thinker with a strong understanding of media trends, consumer behavior, and the ability to leverage data to optimize media plans.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Planning:
- Develop and execute media strategies that align with the overall marketing and business objectives.
- Conduct market research and analysis to identify target audiences and media opportunities.
- Create comprehensive media plans, including traditional and digital media, to maximize reach and engagement.
- Media Buying and Optimization:
- Oversee media buying activities, negotiating with vendors to secure the best rates and placements.
- Monitor and analyze media performance metrics, making data-driven adjustments to optimize campaign effectiveness.
- Manage relationships with media partners and agencies to ensure seamless execution of media plans.
- Campaign Management:
- Coordinate with creative, digital, and content teams to develop cohesive and compelling media campaigns.
- Ensure all media campaigns are executed on time, within budget, and meet quality standards.
- Track and report on campaign performance, providing insights and recommendations for future initiatives.
- Budget Management:
- Develop and manage the media budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources.
- Provide regular financial reports and forecasts to senior management.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising campaign effectiveness.
- Team Leadership:
- Lead and mentor a team of media planners and buyers, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
- Provide training and development opportunities to enhance team skills and knowledge.
- Conduct performance evaluations and implement strategies for continuous improvement.
- Industry Knowledge:
- Stay updated with the latest media trends, technologies, and best practices.
- Attend industry conferences and networking events to build relationships and stay informed.
- Share industry insights and recommendations with the broader marketing team.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in media strategy, planning, and buying, with a proven track record of successful campaigns.
- Strong understanding of both traditional and digital media channels, including social media, search, display, and programmatic.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and provide actionable insights.
- Strong negotiation and relationship management skills.
- Experience with media planning and buying tools and software.
- Exceptional project management and organizational skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
