Manager, Mobile App

The Forbes Mobile team is looking for an enthusiastic and passionate Manager of Engineering to join our Engineering group. As Software Engineer Manager, we are expecting the individual to possess strong object-oriented coding skills, excellent attention to detail, and a real passion for app design to lead our mobile apps team. 

What You'll Do: 

• Lead or take part in the entire cycle of software consulting and delivery from ideation to deployment and everything in between
• Act as a mentor for less-experienced peers through both your technical knowledge and leadership skills
• Design solutions and choose technologies that solve clients’ problems while staying within constraints
• Use continuous delivery practices to improve software delivery speed
• Work in collaborative, product-focused teams to build innovative mobile customer experiences for our clients
• Utilize the latest technology thinking from our tech radar in your work
• Apply a variety of languages to your work and continue to code alongside Developers
• Lead software development teams using Agile, Lean and/or Continuous Delivery approaches such as TDD, continuous integration, pairing, and infrastructure automation
• Influence others and always advocate for technical excellence while being open to change when needed

• 7+ years of software development experience
• Experience thriving in a fast, agile and multi-functional team environment
• Experience in developing mobile software applications (side-projects included) preferred.
• You demonstrate excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills and are passionate about mobile app development.
• You hold a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or equivalent work experience
• You have demonstrated experience building new mobile application experiences for Android platform
• You have some experience with or knowledge of iOS development
• You’re well-versed in two or more languages (Kotlin, Python, Go, Java, Javascript, etc.) and are comfortable with the latest Object-Oriented technology
• You have led software development teams using Agile, Lean and/or Continuous Delivery approaches such as TDD, continuous integration, pairing, and infrastructure automation
• You have experience influencing others and always advocate for technical excellence while being open to change when needed
• The ability to develop and execute a technical vision with a focus on business value
• You’re resilient in ambiguous situations and can approach challenges from multiple perspectives
• Knowledge of cloud technology GCP, Docker or Kubernetes
• Strong writing and verbal communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences
• Ability to create and adapt to workflows to efficiently produce measurable results
• Strong organizational skills

The annual base salary range for this role is $160,000 - $165,000
