Manager, Network Product Development
Job Description
The NAS team is also driving a strategic, multi-year transformation to modernize the way our customers are onboarded to our Network, including the way they test and certify their capabilities before deploying them in Production before they issue or accept Amex cards. This role is an exciting opportunity for a talented product manager to drive the go to market strategy and onboarding of merchants, processors, Acquirers and Issuers onto the modernized Certification Solution.
The Manager of Network Product Development & Management will focus on the following key responsibilities:
- Develop and design testing and certification workflows in collaboration with other Product Owners, Certification Delivery & Deployment teams and Payments Consultants. Work with Technology Vendor to design and deliver an exceptional User Experience utilizing Amex's Design Language System.
- Serve as a technical SME, leading migration of existing participants (merchants, processors, acquirers, issuers, vendors) from existing certification platform to modernized Certification Solution.
- Manage communication around migration with internal stakeholders and external participants. Work with Amex Technologies and external Technology vendor to plan migrations with least impact to external customers.
- Collaborate with the Solution Enablement & Distribution team, and other customer facing teams to drive forward the migration and training needs of both internal stakeholders and external participants.
- Identify opportunities to pilot with new Network Partners (Acquirers or Issuers) and Merchants utilizing the modernized Certification Solution.
- Collaborate and deliver interactive guidance and self-service content using WalkMe to simplify user experience
- Contribute to the product strategy and execution of the roadmaps in close partnership with the other Product Owners, Payment Consultants and Certification Delivery and Deployment teams
- Deliver monthly reports and KPIs to track progress of migration against the planned roadmap
- Engage with and influence internal business unit leaders and partners to understand customer needs and pain points, collaborate on new/relevant product concepts, and co-develop solutions
Minimum Qualifications
- Relevant experience: 3+ years of experience in a Product role designing and delivering systems that support payments
- Communication: Ability to break down complex technical concepts into simple business terms linked to a business strategy. You thrive at the intersection of tech and business and can straddle both worlds easily. You are an excellent communicator, orally and in written communication
- Execution focus: Proven track record of coordinating between Business, Delivery, and Technology teams to define, prioritize, and deliver on a product roadmap
- Thought leadership: Ability to translate customer needs to class leading customer experience to drive ease of onboarding and accelerated time to market
- Entrepreneurial spirit: Ability to mobilize and lead cross-functional team collaboration to achieve results in a fast paced, multi-partner environment with constant change. Demonstrated track record for delivering results in complex and highly matrixed organizations
These qualifications are highly preferred for the role:
- User Experience: You have working knowledge of collaborating and designing new systems, used in Payments Industry, with best-in-class User Experience
- Payments knowledge: You have working knowledge of Payments processes (Authorization, Clearing & Settlement, Disputes, Reconciliation, Point-of-Sale etc.) and understand how data flows across distributed systems using File transfer, API, and real-time messages.
- Experience with planning a program, communicating effectively and frequently with stakeholders at all levels and delivering & leading training efforts.
