Manager of Accounting

BASIC PURPOSE: The primary purpose of this position is to provide accounting and reporting oversite for Love's Truck Solutions, which entails retread manufacturing accounting and warehouse, distribution, and transportation accounting.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manage all daily task and functions of the retread manufacturing accounting process as well as the accounting process for distribution to/from the warehouses
• Close accounting books monthly, ensuring all balances are reasonably stated
• Ensure accurate operational and financial statements are presented to stakeholders timely
• Review and reconcile workpapers monthly
• Manage, coach and train new members of the team on all functions and responsibilities
• Work with other departments as needed to maintain accounting and develop new accounting
• Work closely with operational management to ensure operational financial statements are reflective of actual economic transactions and performance
• Other duties assigned as needed

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting or Finance
• Experience:
  • 5 -10 years accounting experience required
  • CPA certification preferred but not required
  • Manufacturing or managerial accounting experience preferred but not required
  • Distribution and/or transportation accounting experience preferred but not required

SKILLS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Skills:
  • Hard Skills: Proficient in Excel and other Microsoft products required; SAP experience preferred but not required
  • Soft Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong time management and organization skills, sense of urgency, keen attention to detail, and the ability to function as a team where multiple department representatives is essential.
• Typical Physical Demands:
  • Requires prolonged sitting, some bending and stooping.
  • Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds.
  • Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator.
  • Requires normal range of hearing and vision.
