Manager of Audit & Risk Governance
Job Description
At Beyond Finance, we’ve made it our mission to help everyday Americans escape the endless cycle of crippling debt and step into a brighter financial future. Through compassionate, individualized care, supportive user-centric technology, and customized financial solutions, we’ve helped over 300,000 clients on their path to a debt-free life.
While we’re proud of what we’ve already accomplished (over $2 billion in resolved debt), we're searching for new collaborators to help us get to the next level! If you’re looking to join a forward-thinking, rapidly growing organization with helping people as its number one goal, we want to hear from you.
The Audit & Risk Governance team is responsible for maintaining an effective governance and control framework for Beyond Finance aligned to industry best practice and regulatory expectations. We provide guidance, oversight and challenge to the first line of defense (1LoD) on Beyond’s implementation of its risk management framework. We work with 1LoD to implement risk management remediation and consistent application of the enterprise risk framework. We ensure audit and risk management information, analysis and reporting are accurate, timely and fit for purpose.
Expected ‘house’ style and team approach
- We achieve cultural, consistent, commercial compliance - striving for regulatory risk management as a competitive advantage
- We have a strong back (we build trust, confidence, structure, stability, we challenge) with a soft front (we are friendly, engaging, patient, positive)
- If we build it, they will come - we are visible, helpful, make our interactions a positive experience
- We are on the field, not in the stands - being at the heart of the action, sleeves rolled up, have ‘muddy boots’
- We work smarter and are solution driven - it's easy to over complicate, harder to simplify but simplicity is sustainable and scalable; our goal is to help provide as clear, simple and timely a solution as possible
- We understand that data, technology and innovation underpin successful, evidence based compliance but the face of compliance still has to be human
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
As Manager, Audit & Risk Governance you will maintain effective dialogue with a wide range of senior stakeholders across the organization to deliver focused continuous improvement to audit and risk management practices, as well as ensuring high quality routine and regular risk reporting and analysis. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:

- Training and awareness: embody a strong risk culture by working to embed risk performance metrics and provide robust risk training
- Documentation and record keeping: implementing and embedding risk and compliance documentation processes and procedures. Working with key stakeholders to ensure that new and existing practices, policies, procedures, and training operate as effective controls to mitigate enterprise wide risk
- Compliance technology: identifying, implementing and embedding ‘smart’ and effective compliance technology solutions to assist Beyond in managing, monitoring and reporting of enterprise risks to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and industry best practice
