Manager of Cloud Engineering

The Role

Bottomline is looking for a Manager of Cloud Engineering to grow with us!

The Manager of Cloud Engineering will oversee the US Cloud Engineering teams for our Paymode product at Bottomline. This role will work closely with other Cloud Engineering leadership in the US and India to help prioritize and manage workload for the team. Work closely with engineers to help remove impediments and coordinate with other Bottomline teams where there are cross team dependencies. Ideally the candidate will have a technical background and be able to jump in and help the teamwork through issues. 

How you'll contribute:

• Assist with backlog prioritization and be able to keep distractions away from the team as much as possible. 
• Drive efficiencies for the teams using tools, knowledge sharing, and best practices.
• Resource planning for all developers, including setting targets for utilization on client projects and running projects for internal initiatives. 
• Collaboration with delivery managers and development leads on best practices to develop solutions for streamline and update our SDLC and CI/CD automation Pipeline.  
• Take part in the hiring, training, and staff evaluations. 

What will make you Successful

• BS and/or 4-year Degree and/or related work experience in a corporate environment
• Hands on experience in DevOps / Cloud Engineering for a hosted SaaS solution
• Experience with containerization and management of using tools like Docker / Kubernetes/ Helm / Argo
• Experience with configuration management and CI/CD tools like Terraform / Puppet / Ansible / Capistrano / Jenkins / GitLab
• Experience with system monitoring and logging tools like Elasticsearch / Logstash / Kibana / Prometheus / Grafana
• Familiarity with deploying Java application technologies like Tomcat / Springboot, JBoss
• Familiarity with SQL Scripting

Nice to Have:

• ServiceMesh Technologies
• Vault / Key Management / SSL Certificate management
• Keycloak
• Working knowledge of DNS, network routing practices and terminology
