Job Description

The Global Network Services organization is seeking a leader that is highly motivated, passionate, and enthusiastic individual who is interested with providing the highest level of support for our Cloud Network Engineering team. This team is responsible for implementing and maintaining the Network and Security Infrastructure in Experian’s public cloud environments across the globe. This role will be responsible to help build, deploy, manage and support all of our network infrastructure in our various public cloud environments and the connectivity back to the Experian network. Additionally, this role will work closely with security compliance, engineering, and operational teams to maintain a resilient and secure network infrastructure to adhere to stringent Regulatory, Governmental, and Industry security control requirements.

As the Manager of Cloud Network Engineering, this individual is expected to provide energetic and creative leadership for the Cloud Network Engineering staff to enable them to provide converged, world class, high performing, network and security services to the entire company and across all business units. 

Summary of Primary Responsibilities

  • Implement and manage the network and security systems within a secure multi-tenant cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP, & etc.) environment.
  • Provides direct support, including after hours, for all network infrastructure in public cloud environments
  • Provides technical guidance for broader solution delivery initiatives
  • Provides support, including after hours, for Tier 2 & 3 escalated operational issues
  • Provides engineering expertise in identification of process improvement and automation opportunities
  • Maintain deep technical knowledge of different Network and Cloud technologies and supporting solution areas and develop new technology integrations and solution capabilities.
  • Provide network implementation strategies, migration plans, and technical project support for low to high level complexity projects.
  • Troubleshoot complex routing issues with platforms and applications in the cloud, on-prem, and connectivity between cloud and on-prem
  • Perform hands on configurations for new deployments
  • Prepares Build documents and Operational Support procedures and performs knowledge transfer to the ENOC to ensure a smooth onboarding of new deployments
  • Solve problems related to mission critical services and build automation to proactively detect and prevent their reoccurrences
  • Convey technical information-solutions to audience using whiteboards, presentations, or written communications in a workshop format.
  • Responsibilities include executive and technical-level communications and relationship building to gain credibility-trust of internal and external customers.
  • Consult, assess, or audit, design, and interview stakeholders to resolve highly technical requirements.
  • Research, evaluate and stay ahead of curve on emerging tools, techniques, and technologies.
  • Demonstrate strong ‘Consultative based mindset’ with strong listening and collaboration skill for uncovering unmet technology-based needs and translating the requirements into strategic solutions
  • High motivation level and an appetite for fast-paced team environment; readily adaptable to changing market and organization requirements
  • Problem solving mentality using internal and-or external resources

Qualifications

  • Passion and desire to lead and motivate a team of engineers to achieve personal and professional goals with a focus on continual growth through development plans and goals 
  • 10+ years of working experience in a customer driven support role for an organization similar to our size 
  • 6+ years of experience leading an operations-engineering team for a large enterprise 
  • High-level hands-on configuration of networking equipment, management tools and network analyzers. 
  • Experience with the following AWS services: Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, VPC, ALB, NLB, AWS PrivateLink, EKS, and other networking services 
  • Experience on scripting (Python is a nice to have) 
  • Experience on cloud infrastructure coed (AWS Cloud Formation or Terraform or Azure DevOps) 
  • Ability to write detailed methods of procedure and maintain documentation including the creation of Visio drawings. 
  • Automation experience with Terraform, CloudFormation, Python and-or Ansible strongly preferred. 
  • AWS Advanced Networking certification strongly preferred. 
  • Strong networking fundamentals, including strong understanding of TCP-IP, routing and routing protocols, DNS, HTTP, and other network protocols 
  • Strong troubleshooting skills, including an ability to identify the root cause of network connectivity issues including timeouts, intermittent connectivity, latency issues, firewall drops, asynchronous routing, etc 
  • Experience migrating applications from on-premise to cloud, or upgrading shared applications or platforms in AWS 
  • Proven expertise working with Global Telecommunications carriers. 
  • Operational experience with load-balancing technologies and platforms such as Citrix, VmWare, & etc. 
  • Extensive experience working remotely in a self-managed environment.

This is a permanent home-based role in Costa Rica. No relocation available.
