The MX Office of Innovation is responsible for building world-class financial tools that leverage our unrivaled data assets. As consumers and institutions interact with these tools, new insights and information are created that can be transformed into even better products. Within the Office of Innovation, the Data Science and Analytics (DSA) department is hiring a Manager of Data Analyticsto lead a team responsible for analyzing end-user/operational data, preparing data for advanced analytics treatment, and a range of data quality and enhancement activities. As a leader within the core analytics function, you'll influence MX's product roadmap using your business acumen, decision quality, and knack for thinking about future possibilities. Moreover, your staff will support data science modeling work and be responsible for describing how people use our products. You'll develop data-driven insights that improve decision-making, investments, and execution within our product suite, and work cross-functionally with colleagues from the product, research, design, and engineering teams. Like all members of the DSA team, you'll also work closely with data engineering and business technology to burnish and defend the integrity of our data culture. The ability to inspire, develop, and manage staff is essential, as are solid project management skills and a talent for transforming data and analytic results into digestible and engaging stories.

What you'll get to do
- Manage, develop, and grow a high-performing team of 5-10 data analysts through direct coaching and mentorship focused on product and operational analytics, data visualization, storytelling, and personal career development
- Lead the creation of new features to enhance MX's world-class classification and categorization engine
- Working with MX's data scientists, support a wide range of advanced analytics/modeling work focused on verification, credit, fraud, and risk
- Support core data engine functionality, including creating/updating system transaction rules, validating model prediction, system performance evaluation, and data/code audits
- Collaborate closely with leaders from Engineering and Product to understand how MX products are used in the marketplace and provide recommendations to increase impact and engagement
- Collaborate with the DSA leadership team to guide roadmap development and prioritization
- Lead the design and creation of new data assets and drive data initiatives beyond our current product portfolio
- Deliver presentations and memoranda to communicate key findings to colleagues and senior leaders
You'll do it using your
- Bachelor's degree, likely including quantitative coursework (e.g., Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, Computer Science, or similar)
- Leadership background to include (a) 2+ years of experience managing people (b) 2+ years of "hands-on" experience in data analytics and (c) 1+ years of experience managing technical projects
- Proficiency in Python and/or SQL coupled with broad exposure to product metrics, dashboards and data visualization methods, statistics, and data quality analyses
- Critical thinking skills, intellectual curiosity, and a willingness to keep looking for better solutions
- Drive to tackle demanding goals with enthusiasm, tenacity in the face of stubborn obstacles, and interest in pursuing personal and technical development alongside other commitments
- Commitment to client needs and satisfaction, humility in the face of constructive feedback, and production of high-quality work that builds trust and confidence with stakeholders
- Passion for mentoring, solid communication and managerial skills enabling cross-functional collaboration
