Job Description
PURPOSE OF POSITION:
The Manager of Employee Relations role contributes to company performance by providing strategic and tactical consulting on people and organization development strategies in support of business objectives. This position supports multiple functional areas. This position is responsible for providing HR consulting services in the areas of employee relations, leadership and team development, support of employee selection and hiring, and performance management and discipline. Provides leadership for our leave administration policies and processes along with specialist functions that include the company receptionist.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
NOTE: The following are major responsibilities of this position. The basic requirement of every position is to perform all tasks as assigned by the reporting authority.
- Partner with assigned business unit leadership to align HR strategy to business strategy.
- Act as change agent through process design and approaches that support change and transformation – striving to lead processes to best practice status.
- Provide day-to-day coaching to leadership on a variety of HR specialties to include employee relation issues, leadership and team development, policy interpretation and application, talent management and development, and organizational effectiveness consultation.
- Work with leadership to help strengthen the organization and managerial capacities to ensure operational excellence and enhance employee engagement and performance.
- Evaluate issues, patterns, and trends to provide proactive insights for HR solutions and program design.
- Conduct ongoing analysis for business partners on current and future staffing and skill needs and design a talent acquisition strategy to meet those needs.
- Supports the annual HR cycle deliverables to include performance management, merit and bonus awards, benefits enrollment, etc.
- Consult with leadership on personnel actions within assigned departments, including recruiting, selection and hiring, discipline and coaching, terminations, etc.
- Provide leadership and counsel on leave administration processes including LTD, STD, personal leaves as well as worker’s compensation cases, ADA accommodation, etc.
- Provide leadership to timekeeping and payroll processing functions.
- Ensure all human resources and people-related laws, policies, guidelines, programs and processes are followed in assigned business units to ensure alignment with business objectives, employment laws and federal regulations.
- Support the recruiting manager in recruiting, selecting, hiring and develop a team of diverse HR professional to deliver on HR goals and strategies. Ensure full utilization of assigned resources within the HR department.
EDUCATION/KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, human resources, psychology, etc.
- Minimum 3-5 years work experience in human resources, preferably with a similar organization in size and scope and in a generalist role.
- Prefer leadership experience with a proven track record of achieving results through others.
- Experience facilitating meetings and employee relations issues to productive closure.
- Experience in change management, with a proven track record in delivering results.
- Proven strong foundation and knowledge of principles and practice of HR including employment law and compliance requirements.
PREFERRED:
- PHR Certification.
- Experience with call/contact center environments.

- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to engage others at all levels. Ability to build, foster and maintain strong internal relationships.

- Demonstrated project management skills.
- Appropriately handles confidential information.
Pay range is commensurate with education, experience, specialized skills or certifications, etc.
