Job Description

This position is with the Global Business Services Team (GBS) located in Phoenix, Arizona. The department gathers, manages, analyzes the global IATA and IATAN data for the global AMEX Global Business Travel entity. This team is also responsible for the administration of the Global Billing Systems. As a Finance Manager, you will be responsible for the oversight for the timely and accurate preparation of reconciliation and supporting documentation required of the ARC and IATAN Agencies as well as all associated internal stakeholders. Successful candidate will be required to ensure that tight weekly, monthly and quarterly financial reporting deadlines are met.

This role will support interim and annual audit preparation research and various ad-hoc tasks as requested by management. This leadership position will play a key role as liaison between GBS, Controllership, Finance, and external parties dealing with highly confidential information. The position currently manages two direct reports and needs to be able to work efficiently with remote associates across the globe ensuring all client needs are met. As a leader you will be responsible for the team's development and growth.

He/she/they will report directly into the Director, Global Supplier Partnerships Finance / Americas Order to Cash

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Ensure an engaged and motivated team which embraces the GBT core values including embracing and championing diversity, obsessing over internal and external customers and embraces change.
  • Work with internal stakeholders to monitor and understand the need to create and/or close IATAs with the ability to influence others without direct authority
  • Internal control point monitoring and approval
  • Motivate team while providing clear direction despite changing priorities.
  • Work with remote global colleagues and staff to address any reconciliation and reporting issues
  • Centralize GBT location setup activity by working with internal partners, and the industry's governing bodies
  • Ensure appropriate segregation of duties and controls around billing systems, users and controls
  • Actively participate, test and ensure integrity from business perspective of system migrations
  • Consultation and collaboration with Finance, and other internal and external support teams to expedite research and answer escalated queries
  • Provide resources for ad hoc requests, such as adjustments to billing, account reconciliation, and reporting requests from our business partners
  • Support efforts and projects to implement new products, as well as process and system enhancements
  • Oversee timely monthly preparation of ARC and IATA reconciliations


Qualifications and Skills
  • 5 or more years business experience with previous people leadership
  • Comfortable with ambiguity, with ability to operate in a highly flexible, dynamic environment
  • Advanced Excel skills; Microsoft Office Experience
  • Strong soft skills with an ability to work cross-functionally
  • Strong collaboration and influencing skills and experience working with Executive level colleagues
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic environment and exhibit flexibility and the ability to work with various personalities
  • Experience tailoring and summarizing information based on audience
  • Bachelor's Degree in business related field
  • Previous travel industry experience helpful but not necessary
  • Job Type: Full-time. The ability to work late and occasionally on weekends during peak times.
  • Currently Remote, likely to be a hybrid position in future but uncertain. May be required to be full time in Phoenix office in the future.
