About the Role

This role reports directly to the Director of Financial Reporting and Technical Accounting and will assist with technical accounting matters and preparation of all SEC filings for the Company.

A Day in the Life

• Preparation of all 10-Q and 10-K filings including initial drafting of the filings, preparation of supporting schedules and review of XBRL tagging
• Assistance with the implementation of new accounting standards issued by the FASB and regulations issued by the SEC
• Review of contracts for accounting implications
• Performing research of the accounting standards codification and SEC rules and regulations in response to specific questions or events
• Initial preparation of memos documenting the Company's position on accounting issues
• Preparation of the noncontrolling interest and earnings per share calculations
• Preparation of monthly equity, including stock compensation and dividends payable, journal entries and reconciliations
• Reconciliation of the equity compensation tracking database
• Providing support to the general ledger team for new or unusual transactions
• Assist the general ledger team with the preparation of monthly financial statements and variance analysis schedules
• Preparation of supporting documentation in response to internal or external auditor requests

• Thorough understanding of generally accepted accounting principles and SEC regulations
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated ability in building a sustainable relationship of trust with vendors and peers, which is established and maintained through a clear, timely, accurate, responsive, and professional communication style.
• Ability to respond quickly to shifting priorities
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously to meet deadlines in a rapidly growing and evolving organization
• Creative problem solver that uses resources and takes the initiative to effectively to generate solutions
• Advanced MS Excel background
• Experience with NetSuite, Hyperion and Active Disclosure is preferred, but not required

Education and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in accounting required
• A CPA license is highly preferred, but not required
• Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience with 3 years of progressive, relevant experience in SEC reporting and technical accounting
