BASIC PURPOSE :
The Manager of Marketing Automation is responsible for steering the 1-1 customer communication strategy for Love's. They will be responsible for managing the strategic direction of Salesforce Marketing Cloud, identifying areas of opportunity within Love's to leverage customer communication technology, and advising on resources needed to support new & existing use cases. As such, this position will serve as a liaison to all teams that communicate directly to customers including, but not limited to, the loyalty team, the mobile team, and the various sales teams.
This person will manage a team responsible for the execution of digital communication. They will be responsible for developing talent that can uncover new ways to report on and analyze customer data to facilitate better business decisions. They will also be responsible for the overall performance & health of the data in the Salesforce Marketing Cloud system and for managing the cost & return attributed to the product.
The successful candidate should thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative, process-driven environment and be able to adapt and adjust plans on-the-fly. The position requires interaction with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders at various levels of the organization. Candidates must possess the ability and willingness to balance consumer needs with business priorities and articulate the rationale behind decisions. They must also have exceptional product management skills.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 5+ years of experience with the Marketing Cloud platform, with expertise in creating and managing marketing campaigns from start to finish
- Robust people management skills
- Strong initiative, creativity, and strategic thinking around translating business requirements into actionable Marketing Cloud execution
- Ability to lead a team that captures business needs & requirements, architect solutions, and prioritize & communicate those needs to project team members including developers, project managers, IT staff and management
- Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, exhibit strong listening, feedback, and interpersonal skills
- Significant experience with Journey Builder, Marketing Cloud Connector, and Einstein
- Strong understanding of SQL and data extensions
- Experience working with multiple marketing channels and compliance considerations for each
- Proven ability to act independently to determine methods and procedures on new or special assignments
- Experience with contract management & vendor evaluation, ability to proactively managing the cost and ROI of various marketing systems (including Salesforce Marketing Cloud) a must
- Close attention to detail and excellent analytical skills
- Ability to clearly communicate and explain complicated processes
- Ability to quickly identify more efficient workflows and processes
- Ability to serve as a change agent in the organization
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead direct customer marketing strategy and innovation; unlock opportunities for automation & improvement using technology platforms including Salesforce Marketing Cloud
- Work with internal groups to identify and design business solutions on the Marketing Cloud platform based on customer and/or business needs
- Manage the Salesforce Marketing Cloud roadmap in partnership with other internal stakeholders; Assist in the creation of ROI metrics and manage the prioritization of projects
- Lead a team that creates and executes of campaigns and journeys for various customer segments
- Support the ideation, creation, and maintenance of automations that utilize multiple data sources for customer communication
- Manage the commercial relationship with Salesforce Marketing Cloud and other marketing technology vendors (as needed), including contract management, cost, and revenue reporting
- Integrate marketing campaign data with customer records and assist in optimizing 1-1 customer communication
- Empower team members to bring new ideas to the business, support individual career planning & development
- Facilitate the maintenance of the Marketing Cloud connection with mobile platform
- Establish and optimize the connection of the Service Cloud with the Marketing Cloud
- Support the daily administration, troubleshooting and technical support for Salesforce Marketing cloud; Maintain security system setting including users, profiles, roles and permission sets
- Document all system processes and training guides as needed
- Train new and existing users on system functionality
- Stay current on all Salesforce Marketing Cloud release notes and communicate any new features or changes to the organization
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Education:
- Associates Degree or Bachelor's degree in MIS, Marketing or Business
- Experience:
- At minimum, 5 years of successful experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud or a
- Salesforce Marketing Cloud Email Specialist and Salesforce Marketing Cloud Consultant certifications preferred.

- Hard Skills: knowledge of Microsoft Office; familiarity with integrating various technologies to support marketing efforts
- Soft Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong time management and organization skills, sense of urgency, keen attention to detail, and the ability to work under tight deadlines
