About the Manager of Outbound Sales Role

We’re looking for an experienced, well-rounded professional, with a proven track record of exceeding sales targets to help us find and land new small business clients and then to build an outbound sales team. You’ll report directly to the Director of Direct Sales. We're counting on you to be a proven sales leader, excellent people manager and someone who closely tracks and uses data to make good business decisions. You’ll help us create a playbook for finding good leads and landing new clients. While the marketing team will be your partner in providing collateral and success stories, you won’t rely on them to generate leads for your team. Think targeted verticals by industry and state. Then you’ll hire, train, lead, coach and motivate your team to achieve their targets in a predictable and repeatable way.

A few things you can expect to jump in on right away:

  • Create the vision and strategy for "outbound small business sales" at Take Command
  • Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve sales targets
  • Recruit and manage outbound sales team representatives as business opportunity grows
  • Organize and direct the activities of our outbound sales representatives
  • Train your team on the process of prospecting and selling through proven outbound methods
  • Create a pipeline of prospects in our target markets and develop an outreach plan for your team
  • Keep accurate records of your teams sales activities and results and report regularly on your team’s progress
  • Collaborate with the marketing, product and support teams to ensure alignment towards sales team goals.

While we care deeply about bringing in a leader that aligns with our mission, vision, and values, we anticipate top candidates will also meet the following criteria:

  • 5+ years of relevant work experience, including at least 3 years of management experience
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proven outbound sales success
  • Experience generating leads and closing deals
  • Demonstrated experience collaborating with multiple teams
  • Experience building a team and mentoring junior employees
  • Bachelor’s degree with related work experience
  • Sales or related industry experience
