Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY:
Clearway Health is one of the Northeast's largest specialty pharmacy partners. The Manager of Specialty Operations is responsible for overseeing and managing day-to-day specialty operations at up to several contracted hospital and clinic partner locations. The ideal candidate will possess knowledge of specialty pharmacy, focused on developing and managing key programs supporting client clinical and financial performance. A key trait of this candidate will be to work well under time pressures, establishing credibility with clients, and be service oriented in their work with client sites. This position will report directly to the Director of Specialty Pharmacy Operations, where they will work closely in developing, deploying and managing tactics to grow client programs, alongside identifying immediate growth or optimization opportunities.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES:
Supports Director with oversight of operational responsibilities at partner sites, including new and established growth programs at client sites
- Reporting on program performance (including extracting and summarizing reports and performance metrics via Salesforce, etc.)
- Assists the Director with the development and implementation of processes necessary for the specialty pharmacy program growth
- Manages the day-to-day program operation and processes related to the specialty program and ensures all standards of Clearway Health, as well as client sites, are met
- Identifies areas of program improvement, assists the Director with solutions, and supports the Director with implementation of improvements
Responsible for oversight of designated staff at client sites and/or centrally located to support the specialty pharmacy program
- Responsible for scheduling and time card management of all staff (e.g. management of scheduled and unscheduled time off and coverage assignments) at deployed sites (pharmacists, liaisons, etc.) and ensures program is adequately staffed for operation
- Provides day to day performance management, and accountability to all dedicated account staff in conjunction with the Director and Supervisor of Advanced Teams
- Participates in interviewing, hiring, orientation, onboarding, and recurring training of staff
- Creates a great work environment and inspires teamwork and partnership at all levels
Supports consistent in-clinic and pharmacy engagement at partner and central sites
- Serves as a direct liaison for all matters of specialty program and clinic workflow with clinical staff and providers
- Understanding of clinical service needs, translating those needs into program standards and addressing challenges and roadblocks by devising solutions and alternative approaches
- Works with pharmacy personnel directly to ensure the successful operation of the specialty pharmacy program and supports the Director as needed on specific projects (e.g. pharmacy managers, directors, etc.)
- Achieving local target goals through developing tactics to ensure on-going client success.
- Coordination of clinical care programs aligned with partner health system objectives through the management of on-site staff
- Maintaining strong relationships with business units, clinical staff, and client leadership
- Addresses partner hospital satisfaction promptly and with high level of service
Other responsibilities of the position include:
- Compliance with all Federal, State and Local laws, regulations and rules.
- Compliance with all accreditation standards.
- Comprehensive understanding of the 340B drug program, insurance navigation and basic pharmacy liaison workflows.

EDUCATION:
- Pharmacist with PharmD or BS Pharm required. MBA or other business degree preferred.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED:
- Requires licensure to practice pharmacy in the worked-in state.
EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelors or PharmD Pharmacy (B.S. or PharmD) with at least 7 years in with relevant experience in pharmacy.
- Prior leadership experience is preferred
- Epic, Meditech, Cerner, and QS1 systems experience is an asset
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
- Comprehensive understanding of all the procedures, systems, and equipment used by pharmacists and technicians in the pharmacy as well as a high level of proficiency in performing these duties and responsibilities.
- Previous oversight experience involving pharmacy related items in outpatient /ambulatory clinics
- High level of analytical ability to evaluate current pharmacy services and procedures to improve them by gathering data from a wide variety of sources through an evaluative research process.
- Organizational and personnel management skills to function as a role model and to ensure the concerted approach to operations.
- High level of interpersonal skills to relate to hospital healthcare personnel working cooperatively and collaboratively to resolve situations and problems, as well as effectively communicating and displaying leadership within and outside of the department.
- High level of proficiency with standard software used in healthcare office setting (e.g. MS Word, Excel, Access, web browser, etc.)
- Experience with pharmacy and clinical databases systems (such as QS1, Centricity, Meditech, Cerner, EPIC, SCM etc.) are a plus.
- Must possess self-management skills and require little to no supervision. This person must be a self-starter, self-motivating, have a strong work ethic and must have the ability to identify issues or opportunities that require attention and change.
- Ability to problem solve issues when resources are stretched or scarce; ability to make alternative plans as needed.
- Must possess and exhibit process improvement skills and acumen.
